Im looking to bet a superfecta. Who have you tossed so far that wont hit in the Top 4 and i mean have no shot at the top 4.

Mine are:

Big Truck
Cowboy Cat
Bob Black Jack
Denis of Cork
Anak Nakal
Tale of Ekati

SO hard to throw any horse out in the Derby for 4th.. I agree with you on Big Truck, most likely the worst in the group, but too much can happen in a race of this magnitude with 20 entered...

GL with whatever you decide to go with...

I have about $350-400 to wager with.

Its either a superfecta or trifecta.

A trifecta 4x11x11 is $360 Thats for a $1

A superfecta 4x7x7x6 is $400 thats for a $1

Which would you choose?

My top 3 horses at the top are Court Vision, Z Fortune, and Visionaire. Im still searching for a 4th

ageecee....

No matter what happends...the payouts will be BIG as always with so much money being wagered..Damn hard to hit the superfecta, let alone the trifecta in the Derby...Make a firm decision on who you like best, and key that one horse for each of the top 4 positions along with the others you like...It should cost a bit less...

once again...

GL buddy.

In this race i have to have a few horses for the top spot. Cant just key one horse i need coverage. Im going to see if my buddy wants to go half with me on the superfecta.

I will post my play when i get home from the OTB. Should be home about an hour before the race starts.

I'll admit I am not betting with confidence in this race. I am throwing out Big Brown and taking a shot. I will have several tickets, but here is my main tri ticket:

Cool Coal Man - Denis of Cork - Court Vision
CCM - DOC - CV - Colonel John
CCM - DOC - CV -CJ - Adriano - Gayego - Pyro

Sometimes you've just gotta swing for the fences.
Good luck!!!

My view is that Colonel John comes from behind to crush, grueling early fractions will set up well for him, and if can tuck in from behind, I believe benefiting from post position he drew, he will dominate the weaker horses in the end, watch the tape of last few races, at the very least I think he must be included in exotics....

Yes...Very nice horse. Just not a big fan of the Trainer/Jocky combo going on there...Unless Big Brown really is the freak of nature everyone is talking about, the winner of this years derby will be stalking from off the pace. Your selection fits well.

Good Luck Phenom.

Just went out and booked my bets this afternoon at the local OTB. All the regulars were there (you know the older, overweight , unemployed guys with a cough that sounds like they have lung cancer... ) ALL the talk was about Colonel John, Big Brown and Monba...

I LOVE those guys at the Downs, Mully..:mj07:

my favorite one is the guy that always, I mean, ALWAYS picks a winner at better than 5-1 odds and tells everyone at his table (and in earshot) that had he not have run out of money before the horse ran, he'd be buying everyone in the place a Budweiser...and then he tells everyone about how him and his brother missed a 35,000 trifecta at Hawthorne because they didn't get to the window in time...the guy cracks me up--don't get too close, though; don't think he has running water at his trailer....kurby

I know that dude!! Poor bastard...He's actually a really nice guy and knows the ponies pretty well. He's given out a few winners over the years, but is always dead broke. Must not be that great of handicapper. Dude sure does need a bar of soap or at least some body spray...:mj07:

Good luck neighbor!
