Don't give two shits about my dad. Never in my life and never will be. I lost my dad when my mom passed away in 1993. My mother raised my twin and me from the time we were 4 years old until she passed away. My dad never gave child support or wanted to visit while we growing up, so:thefinger him. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have both parents throughout their lives.

Rolltide -

I read the article earlier today and found it very moving. Thinking about you today buddy - it must be so tough... I am fortunate to have two loving parents still alive.

I bet your dad and mom miss you too...and that they're watching you from a better place now.

Above the Clouds....
Great read. Lost my Dad in 2000 and think of him everyday. Lots of memories but I would trade all of them for one more day with him.

It's been a little over 6 years for me and as I was reading that I couldn't stop the tears thinking of my ol' man, not a day goes by that I wish he was still around especially to see me get married, the birth of our daughter, etc.

Sad Story. My Dad and my Father in Law are still alive I can't even think about the day they pass away not going to be able to handle it. Just need to enjoy every moment while you can. All of you that have lost your fathers; on sunday think about the good times you've had together.

I enjoyed the read and of course I teared up.

I'm very lucky to still have my Dad. We worked the colonial together and talk all the time. Sunday, we will do our usual...Drinks ad Us Open.

Hope everyone enjoys the Day, remembering and spending time with Family

mine lives in Florida (I am in NY), and I don't get to see him nearly as often as I would like. As he gets older, I realize that, with all his flaws and human frailties, he is my father and I love him. If for no other reason than that.

I speak to him each weekend, and inevitably I am busy with the kids, or getting ready to go out for the evening. And then the Harry Chapin song, Cats in the Cradle, runs through my head.

I will miss him dearly when he is no longer here.
