mustard or ketchup?

if you can have one or the other on your hotdog, what is your choice?

mustard for me. if i HAD to use ketchup, i wouldn't eat the damn thing.

and, there is a definite difference in the personalities of mustard people and ketchup people. i just haven't figured out exactly what it is yet.

what do you use?

also, some people use mayonaise on french fries and SOME use A1 Sauce on fish :moon:

Jack that is a tough one for me. It depends on what is in the fridge. I like Mustard, but it better be some spicy, good mustard. No shoppers value brand etc. I too put ketchp on ham sandwiches and other sandwiches. Your son must like soft serve.

don't eat hotdogs that much but prefer mustard when i do. my wife puts ketchup on everything. it really grosses me out when she puts ketchup on her eggs, even though i know a lot of people do this. whats the deal with these hamburger joints putting mustard on hamburgers. i always forget they do this and then get home and can't eat it.

Didn't Dirty Harry once look at his chief who was eating a hotdog with Ketchup and say (disgustedly), "Nobody...puts ketchup on a hot dog."

If you can't turn to Clint for advice on the matter, who can you look to?

For the record, if I'm only eating one hot dog, its mustard, and I tend to prefer French's "Yellow Paint" to anything fancy when I'm eating a dog. If i'm eating 2, i'll usually slap some ketchup on the second just for variety.

Tabasco on both, and everything else.

I prefer miracle whip or if there is none of that, Mayonnaise. Peanut butter and miracle whip are also good on a hotdog.

A true hot dog for me is;

yellow mustard, diced onion, relish, sliced halved tomato, pickle spear, sport peppers, and celery salt on a poppy seed bun steamed to perfection.

Fries I want in a brown paper bag with some of the skin still on, salted, a a small yet noticeable grease stain soaking through the sides of the bag. Once I take my seat at the metal table with the umbrella stuck in the hole in the middle of it. I will pile up a big mound of ketchup on the paper wrapper to dip the too hot fries in.

Most likely it is there, watching all types of people pass me by, that I will ask myself lifes little questions...like "why the hell did I get married, twice!", and "I wonder if that chick is wearing thongs". Aaaahhhh yes,....you can't beat mustard on a hot dog.

Put some Ranch Dressing on it! Man I eat that crap on everything! Fries, Samich's, Chips, Biscuits, Pizza, Corndogs, you name it I've tried it!
