I was just looking out my office window as one of the attorney's (whom I share my building with) clients walked out to her car and proceeded to key the entire side of my beautiful black Audi..........I saw her doing it and ran out and asked her why she keyed my car and she denied it. I got her plate number after using every swear wood in the book and was just ready to call the cops and she called the attorney to apologize and for me to go ahead and get it fixed................yea right. I told the attorney that she would have to pay to have it fixed, rent me a Mercedes and give me in cash that same amount. Just got the estimate $3299 for car repair $1000 for weeks car rental. So this is going to cost her about $9000. It turns out she's got plenty of money but has mental problems and doesn't want the police involved........what a day.

Boys, don't let it go brother, call the police, the other attorney is a witness she called & admitted doing it. Shit like this really burns me. My accessible van was recently vandalized with paint at Fenway, key is even worse, some people suck!

Lotta "just" going on here. Seems like a pretty quick turn around time, was the guy who gave you the estimate in the building also?

By the way, $3299?? What do they paint those cars with? Platinum?

For the cheapest paint job on a 10 year old work van. All white, "paint on the tires" quality work.

$1500 5 years ago here in Chicago.

Painting vehicles is extremely expensive. From what I understand, the paint costs a ton per gallon because of all the environmental regs. The price he gives isn't surprising at all.

Autometrics does high end cars and is about 1/2 mile from me. I wanted the estimate fast so the attorney could get a check before the woman had a chance to change her mind..........Here's another negative guy who thinks everything is a conspiracy.............would you like the name and phone number so you can verify the estimate....bunch of assholes around here lately.

Your just having a hangover from one asshole in particular Boys. Eddie (Haskull) Pony Tail is this forum's DEAD WEIGHT and has that effect on people. He sits and waits for an unsuspecting soul and jumps them as he did you. The piece of shiit enjoys blind siding relatively new posters. I had my turn in the barrel some time back, it was your turn the other day. At least he didn't make "witty" comments about doing your mom or your wife as he has resorted to in the past, or challenging you to a fight. Forum DEAD WEIGHT such as Eddie has to be recognized for it's worthlessness and dismissed. Weak pukes like Eddie thrive off attention. It's a form of penis envy for those of weak character and general ability in life.

Too bad about your ride. Shiit happens. At least you are not depending on her insurance (or lack of it) to pay for any medical bills.

I am a licensed insurance adjuster/appraiser, just a few tips for you:

Depending on how fast you want to get your car repaired, especially if you think you are going to have a hard time getting the money out of the woman who keyed it.

Submit a claim under your comp coverage to your isnc company. If you have rental on your policy, they can get you into a rental immediately. Ask them what 'network shops are in their program' they will gurarantee the repairs for the lifetime of you owning that vehicle, and the repairs will go much smoother, however you will have the choice where you take your vehicle. 1 caveat, dependiing on who your carrier is, the negotiations on what they will or will not pay for on the repair could get messy and draw out the repair.

Depending upon how confident you feel about getting your money back:

1. Tell them you don't know who did it, you suspect someone, and live with the possibility at worst, you eat your deducitble. If you can 'prove' who did it, they will go after them, but no telling how long that will take.

2. If you tell them you saw the person do it, then they will get into a very long-drawn out investigaton and will probably not afford you coverage right away, and get police reports etc, and take a long time before offering to repair your veh, then trying to subro vs the person or if she has auto insc they may try to subro her policy.

What is good at Costco these days?
