Ok, so, today I get to take a day trip with "the boys" to a construction site. A part of my job is tangentially reviewing and negotiating construction exhibits as part of our real estate documents. Here are some snippets of conversation that occurred today. These are four born and bred West Texas guys.

"I'm so hungry I could eat the south end of a running gorilla". (?)

"They want me to take vacation in January. Don't they know there ain't no deer huntin' in January?"

"There are bugs down here you ain't never seen in yer life!"

"sums-a-bitches"

"F-bomb, F-bomb and another F-bomb"

The main topics of discussion were:

1. Deer huntin'
2. Other kinds of huntin'
3. Fishing (which is cool)
4. Marveling at the coolness of other stores' awnings and lighting (Ugh)
5. The hotness of other co-workers wives/gf's

So, all in all, a very fascinating day. These guys are actually very cool (the two I work with - the other two were on-site construction guys).

Is this really what you guys talk about all day long? kurby

On the good side, I now know what an X-brace is, and the difference between structural steel and other steel. Absolutely fascinating! Seriously, it was a cool trip.

4. maybe - any other manly topic could go there as well.
5. YES. ***although, it is considered poor ettiquete to talk about the hotness of a wife if that husband is part of the conversation.

I forgot to mention I saw 762 photos of dead deer, cool fly fishing in Alaska and one tarantula. I learned the difference between "mule" deer, "white-tailed" deer, and I think "black-tailed" deer.

Really, I could have done without the dead animal photos. Then I heard tons of comments about the size of the racks. I chipped in with my own comments at that point.

Then, to finish off the day we grabbed a couple brews.:toast:

Regarding number 5, I have noticed that trend. What they don't know is they have all told me at one time or another their assessment of each others wives. It is truly very funny.

That pretty much sums up guys in general...

What you do not realize is that as they dropped you off, they put you in several "discussions" of their own...

You should also know that later on that night, while thoughts of you danced in their head.

Yep, am well aware of that. I'm old news, though, been around the company for quite a while. The guys are like brothers to me...
