I told MJ at the outing that yyz was one of the guys I'd love to meet. He had nothing but good things to say. I hope that alcohol does not get in the way of having that opportunity.

I'll be shining if I get a chance to meet the GDRC

Then he went on to tell me how great Sportsaholic was and how we needed to surprise him with a Maine trip. So Jack's credibility took a bit of a hit, but I still would like to meet yyz.

yyz is a MJS legend, I always liked his humor, enjoyed his company when I have been with him, and love the guy. I don't know what I did to piss him off.

Sportsaholic just recently got into the click. :0003

On the course!
To be honest brother, that dive into the pool was something that I decided to do as we were leaving the parking lot to go get dressed for dinner and leaving the golfing thing behind for the day. I mentioned that I thought it would be funny while all that wanted to were standing in a parking lot. Those that thought I was kidding or just wanted a laugh decided to go with me. It lasted all of one minute and I was not there "representing" nor did I require the group to attend. Those that didn't want to go didn't. I did it because I thought it was funny. I didn't hurt a soul, I didn't make anyone feel bad about them self. I didn't require anyone to rise to my level of playfulness nor do I think I put myself ahead of the group.

I think it is unreasonable to go to a gathering of personalities and expect everything to go just how I want things to go, or to please everyone. If my actions made someone uncomfortable, I am sorry, but I don't think they did. If anything, any one of the people that truly know me would hopefully tell you that I do care about my friends. I care that they are okay and enjoying themselves etc... I don't just run over people or disregard their feelings. If you were at an outing and met me I am pretty confident you would change your mind about who I am but that's just me.

Seriously, I truly hope that you not coming because of the actions or presumptions about guys like me isn't the case. Anyway, cheers bro.

Hope this helps,
FDC

I don't want you to think I'm indicting you on this, either. Listen....When things get to where I'm not comfortable anymore, I don't tell the other guys to pack it in......I pack it in. I'll guarantee you're a great time to hang around! I'm betting you're just as much fun if you sat by a fire all night with the whole gang sharing a case of water, and swapping BS stories. I guess that brings me back on point:

Can you guys have fun/be fun on your own, or does excessive booze have to be there to fuel the fire? I think it's a fair question. I'll bet every guy at the outing is a great guy on his own two feet. I know the ones I have met are!

That even includes this yo-yo:

It would be easier to take you seriously if you did more than attend 2 outings and bet 900 prop bets and then leave.:0008

Your last few posts are taking a jab at people who do shit.

:sadwave:

I've attended two outings YOU were at. I've been at more than my share.

I spent plenty of time with several MJ members on both of those trips. I had meals with several of our members, played golf with whatshisnuts, his brother and dad, and gambled with several of the guys. I'm sorry I never had a chance to tuck you in out there.

Personally, I would be fine with water, however, I like how things are at present as well. I think things would be great with or without the booze for all the people that attend. I don't think any of them have any kind of drinking problem other than maybe having one too many now and again. I don't drink like I used to either. For instance, I have seen a couple posters absolutely pounded one outing, one night, and pretty much stone cold sober the next three years. I appreciate the answer and explanation.

Fair enough!

I'm not suggesting these guys are booze hounds, either. Most of the replies I've seen from the outings always seem to have guys rubbing their heads in the morning asking what the fuck they did last night? That's generally a guy who doesn't treat himself like that on a regular basis!

Yeah, I hear you. I just can't stand the damn hangovers anymore!! I agree with you though. The hardcore drinkers I know never seem hungover, they just always are though.

:toast: :)

I was never drunk the whole trip.

Some guys can handle their emotions and being toasted, and some can't. It's just not for me (to get plastered), but if u like it, go for it. We're all adults.

I will agree with yyz in that for me, being around a drunk is not the best time, but being around an angry drunk is something I won't do. I only know of one angry drunk on this trip :0corn and I steered clear.

I haven't swung a club the last two trips because I'm not able anymore. For me, the trips are a nice getaway, a time for me to be alone and think and reflect while most are playing golf, a time to play a lot of poker, a time to not have those everyday cares and worries, and a time to see my friends from here in the evenings to catch up and hang out. Even though my body won't let me play golf, I don't feel like I miss out (and I don't want any sympathy for that statement; I have many things to be thankful for). I did really miss Handicapper this year though. Damn wheelchair poker player; those guys are always donkeys! Hope you can make it next year, buddy!

Yyz, u should attend next year. Don't let any trick kill your vibe.

It's hard to mix people on opposite ends of the spectrum, but it gets worse for those on the 100% sober end. I totally understand it and think that's all Eric is trying to say. It's easy to bitch at him, but we all know what he's saying. Jack and I are out there getting lit up and I totally understand how it can get old for those who don't drink at all to deal with us. If you are a drinker, it's not hard to handle bc you probably go a little over your normal limit too.....but if you don't drink at all, it's probably annoying.

I hope Eric gives it another crack, but I'll never give him crap for skipping out. He's a great guy and I've always had fun when he's joined up with us.
