He had his back leg amputated last month because of osteosarcoma bone cancer. He is 14 years old. He was in hospital for 2 days came home on a thursday afternoon by saturday he was getting up and walking. This past Friday he had his 1 month check up lab work, utra sound plus chemotherapy.Vet said all tests came back negative he is showing no metasis into other organs. The cancer he had in bone was the worst a grade 3 so fingers are crossed its been a miracle. I would recommend one great supplement its called k-9 immunity plus. Prior to surgery we did alot of praying he is such a great dog.

shlep....great news....very happy to hear that your buddy is doing well...

duncky.....just had a visit from a mobile vet..our cat`s had had diabetes for 7/8 years....it`s finally catching up(blind, neuropathy, kidney issues)......was almost ready to put our cat down...they gave her fluids and some intravenous vitamin concoctions(b complex,c and some other stuff)...very compassionate and much less stress on the cat than going to a vet...and when she has to be euthanized, they come right to the house and do it in your home...wish i was aware of these people years ago.....
if your dog is old,you should be able to control the diabetes with some effort...takes a while to do serious damage but you have to put some time and expense in...

hopefully,the cancer is treatable....

if you need any info on diabetic treatment for an animal.i might be able to help a little...they say 7-8 years is a pretty long time for a pet to survive with diabetes...

g.l.,bud....

thx bud and may email you with some questions ... he is 10 or 11... not sure as he was a Hurricane Katrina survivor ... his glucose was 642 and has lost 5 lbs in last 2 weeks ... being a Mini Schnauzer that is 25% of his weight and that is NOT good ... appreciate the thoughts and offer to help :0008
