Where it is real F ing COLD

The largest amount I sent out was $300 and most received at one time was $125 for entry fees. They questioned me on 6 payment transactions totaling like $700, they questioned a $67 payment and that was to a guy who won $75 and gave me an $8 tip lol.

I now have to give them 3 months of bank statements and Photo ID. I told them that the payments went to friends or I was entering fantasy football.

My point is, wtf is going on when this little bit of money is pissing off Paypal? I guess if I would of paid the fee for sending instead of it not costing a dime because I checked the friends part this never would of happened. They may think I am a bookie or that I am purchasing product and not paying a fee.

Well I only have $125 in the account right now, no big deal but I just sent out payment options to about 20 guys that included paypal and luckily only one sent paypal right away and was lucky enough to send out an email to everyone to not use that option or it could of been a BIG problem.

I could see if I was taking in large sums of cash like the article said but this is petty

In the case of fantasy football that is really ridiculous and it sucks.

But for those using PP to fund their book....are you really surprised?? Any intermediary used to fund a sportsbook account will eventually end up being on lock down. Any money I've ever sent to a SB I know there is a decent chance I may not see it again. You are rolling the dice- just like every aspect with gambling, if that money makes or breaks you, it shouldn't be used for wagering.

When you send to a book you are sending to a person, I guess Paypal would get fairly suspicious if said recipient was receiving a lot of transactions.

Anything they suspect might be involved with gambling no matter the amount. I guess those cases I posted about aren't relevant to your case. I don't really know, I saw it happen to 2 guys on a different forum that had been running contests and they were shut down as well.

Just to add a little to how easily monitored this is, each merchant is categorized by a. Merchant category code. Those codes allow institutions to monitor spend which is required by AML BSA regulations. A flag is set on specific MCCs that alert the program manager. If it falls in high risk behavior, bam, lock down. Simple as that.

Why would a program manager allow certain activities to jeopardize their core business model? This is US based. Canada is regulated and doesn't follow same rules per the Ministry of Finance.

Correct. this is weighted on a transactional montoring report known as Cash in Cash out and is reviewed daily.

In cases where this is high it could easily lead to a SAR which must be filed with FIN CEN and issuing bank. SAR being suspicious activities report.

One of the velocity checks is number of account to account transfers. Anti money laundering rules come into play. If say a manager wanted to look at cumulative transfers by an individual over the history of the account, predictive analysis would show you have been hibernating and are high risk for future transfers in the near future.

Computer monitoring has changed the landscape in the last couple of years for all programs, paypal being one of them.

Well if Paypal lets my account back into standing I will only use it for purchases. I buy a ton of fishing equipment off of ebay and use paypal. Speaking of which, I better get some now.

Woody has always been intelligent. Where did you find him not so much? Maybe you should post some indications that reflect him not being intelligent. Thant ought to keep you busy a few days with something to do.
