National Championship Game.

IMO - You cannot handicap weather like this. 50 mph winds? Even in gusts, its going to take any advantage Brady has over Cutler and minimize it.

You now take this game and make it front 7s or 8 vs each other, especially with the starting MLB out for NE and you are backing the wrong team.

Id buy back and sit this one on the sidelines.

I mention the 54th ranked defense because the 3 previous high scoring teams you mentioned all faced defensive juggernauts that you would expect to see from the SEC. Auburn is not one of these teams.

...................................................................

This is right to the guts of this issue and substantiates what I have already said.

You can make a winning wager on this info alone.

Defensive juggernauts were not what kept them three high scoring teams from scoring their average points

It was the pressure of the game. The National spotlight. When things dont go so good, and they wont for both teams in this game, which team will rise out of the adversity and take it to the house ?

Auburn wins !

I hate to see duck legs on my QB I am counting on to win.

-- Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley gained what his teammates and coaches said was an unfair reputation this season of being a dirty player.

-- Oregon's Darron Thomas

Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas said Thursday it was warranted.

Oh yeah, we've seen he's got a lot of dirty plays, throwing people around after the play and things like that," Thomas said Thursday. "But that's just football. I don't worry about it because it's a physical game."

Fairley, the Lombardi Award winner, was especially hard on quarterbacks. He knocked Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett out of the game with a concussion, and Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray also had to leave the game in the fourth quarter after being hit in the knee by Fairley.

Earlier in that game, Fairley was penalized 15 yards for spearing Murray in the back with his helmet.

Thomas said he wasn't sweating the 6-5, 298-pound Fairley coming after him Monday night in the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game.
If it happens, it happens," Thomas said. You've just got to get back up for the next play.

-- Auburn's Nick Fairley

Fairley, who led the SEC with 10? sacks, has shrugged off the season-long chatter of his being a dirty player, and he did again Thursday.

"I just go out there and give it 110 percent," Fairley said. "I go out there and try to make plays for my team. If it's me playing dirty, if that's what they call it, that's what it is."

Auburn defensive coordinator Ted Roof acknowledged getting Fairley to tone it down this season with some of his antics after the play, but doesn't buy the rap that Fairley is dirty.

He plays hard, and he plays physical, and we don't apologize for that, Roof said.
actions don't lie, and neither do the cameras that have caught him. Against Bama you can see him gouge the offensive linemen all game long. Dirty doesn't mean he is good, he's good because he only knows dirty.

THE KOD has managed to get Nick Fairley's cell phone number and will try to glean some inside information on tonight's championship game.

Ring Ring ........

Fairley - Yo

KOD - Hey Nick its me KOD

Fairley - Listen KOD I am in the film room we are doing our final walk throughs.

KOD - this will only take a minute.

Fairley - make it damn quick then

KOD - What did you think when Darron Thomas said you were a low down dirty player of QB bashing mama son ?

Fairley - He said all that ?

KOD - Yeh

Fairley - Well the ducks dont have anyone and I mean anyone on their offensive line that can fawking block me. I am going to take Darrons head off his shoulders and eat his ears.

KOD - wow. Why dont you like Quarterbacks ?
what did they ever do to yu ?

Fairley - I dont like people in general, But I really hate Quarterbacks.

KOD - Where does that come from ?

Fairley - When I play in pop warner football I was like 7 years old. We were playing in a championship game of America.

This taller kid QB came up to me before the game and said if I touched him during the game he would kick my mom's ass . He called me a fat little bastid and took all the money in my pockets.
I was afraid to tackle him during the game and I never forgot it what he said about my mama.

KOD - So that has contributed to this hatred for all these years ?

Fairley - Yeh

KOD - I hate to be the one to tell you this Nick but that kid was Darron Thomas. He told the story to the press the other day and laughed about it.

Fairley - AHHHHHHH,@#))@#)#@) , $((#*#*#*@##((W@#9, )#)(#w))#@)@#

Defensively, Auburn defensive linemen Nick Fairley and Zach Clayton need to dominate on the inside. Oregon has seen a few decent defensive tackles, including Oregon State?s Stephen Paea, but its running game has sputtered a bit against some of the better defensive fronts. The offense worked against Stanford, but it didn?t against Cal and needed a while to get going against Tennessee. If Fairley and Clayton can keep LaMichael James from running up the middle on a regular basis, then the Tigers' quick, disciplined linebackers should be able to clean things up on the outside.

Oregon can play extremely well and the offense can work, but if Newton goes off, it?s over. Newton has handled the pressure all year and has been a brilliant decision-maker, and now he?ll have to be more careful than ever. The Ducks secondary is great at swarming around the ball and changing games with big turnovers. Newton can?t force anything that?s not there and he can?t take chances. He?s bigger than most of the Ducks front seven, and he should be able to barrel for yards here and there when he?s not able to get them in chunks.
