The status of that game was put in doubt after AL.com's John Talty and Matt Zenitz reported that "COVID-19 related concerns that threaten to disrupt Monday?s national championship game." According to the report, sources told AL.com that there have been discussions among the SEC, Big Ten and the College Football Playoff in regards to postponing the national championship game as, per the report, Ohio State could be without an entire position group due to COVID-19 testing protocols.
