I wanted to share this since it applies so much to what we do.

Messrs. Buffett and Munger on Math and Theories

Messrs. Buffett and Munger made clear their complete disdain for the use of higher-order mathematics in finance.

"There is so much that's false and nutty in modern investing practice and modern investment banking, that if you just reduced the nonsense, that's a goal you should reasonably hope for," Mr. Buffett said. Regarding complex calculations used to value purchases, he said: "If you need to use a computer or a calculator to make the calculation, you shouldn't buy it."

Said Mr. Munger: "Some of the worst business decisions I've ever seen are those with future projections and discounts back. It seems like the higher mathematics with more false precision should help you, but it doesn't. They teach that in business schools because, well, they've got to do something."

Mr. Buffett said: "If you stand up in front of a business class and say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, you won't get tenure....Higher mathematics my be dangerous and lead you down pathways that are better left untrod."

I really like Orl/Bos over. Orlando plays fast pace and should get some high percentage buckets with Dwight playing against defensively mediocre Boston frontline without KG. Boston also often plays with faster smaller lineup due to lack of firepower in the frontline.

good luck to all.

Accuscore Monday:

Lakers 9.4 and 197
Boston 2.6 and 186.2

Playoff Record: Sides: 19-24-2
Playoff Totals: 29-16-1

Not playing anything tonight, I'm locked in solely on NHL playoffs and bases right now, trying to not get distracted from my bases.

BOL to you guys

I am gonna sit this one out until the half. Everything I see says under and Magic but I can't pull the trigger.

Possible half time action parlayed with LAL ML.

I think the main determinant here is how well the teams will shoot the 3. If JJ starts in place of lee, expect ray to shoot lights out and put this over I think. The question is though, how reliant will both teams be on the 3pters. Will be a hard call, I am still leaning on the under as both teams are great defensively but I think Orlando will have a bad shooting night.
Hard call on both line and total for this game still. The only solid play i think tonight is lakers -8 as Kobe will want to show Artest a thing or 2 after his comments about Brandon Roy.

BOL, I know everything points to the under here. I do also like the LAL but it may be closer than some people expect.

Rough night. Astros couldn't keep a lead and this game looks like its going under. Hopefully we get some points. We all know you'll get the next one Ax.
