Just chiming in with more reasons I'm on DET and think they have good reason to be more motivated.
I know I already said that CHI has a much easier slate of games to play out the season than does DET.
One example of this would be that DET has the Lakers up next.
The last time these two teams met, it was in LA. DET won 106-95.
Do you think DET is looking forward to going back there?
I don't say anything is a given, but if I were DET, I wouldn't want to HAVE to win in LA to maintain the 7th spot. If they lose tonight, that's the situation they will put themselves in.
Also, looking more closely at the games where CHI has done well in the b2b, a lot of them were somewhat different situations (they were coming off a loss, or were playing a less than fully motivated team).
to go down the list of the 10 games from away to home where they went 8-2
03/14 vs. NOR they had just lost to PHI
03/04 vs. GSW they had just lost to CHA
02/28 vs. HOU they had just lost to WAS and were seeking revenge
01/20 vs. ATL they had just lost to NY and were seeking revenge (and lost this game)
01/15 vs. CLE they had just beaten TOR (but were seeking revenge)
01/03 vs. MIN they had just lost to CLE
12/20 vs. UTA they had just lost to BOS
12/17 vs. LAC they had just lost to CHA
12/13 vs. NJN they had just lost to MEM
11/01 vs. MEM they had just lost to BOS
Good Luck,
Bart
