Fairly close Mac. Do you track your picks and the numbers you come up with against the number? e.g. If I were to ask you how you do picking CLE games, can you tell me? What if I asked how you do when you call a game that's 6 points off a number? I hope that makes sense.

I'll take your your CHA number as an example. You call the game CHA -1. Line is CHA -5 This gives you a 4 point cushion on a NYK play. What is your record when you call games with 4 points cushions? If your record is 5-1 then this would be a play. If you're 1-5 calling NYK games then this would change things a bit. Hope I'm not being confusing. :shrug:

Truthfully I know in my mind who is a sore thumb(so to speak) teams I struggle with. I am fairly new to the NBA capping.. Ive never had any interest until your "crew of bad influences" showed up on the scene. So Ive been capping since last year in NBA- so the short answer would be no. I can tell you this with the NBA i am only seeking value on the underdogs. And totals ..i.e. tonight I had Phi-GS at 195 yet total opened at 210.5(tons of value) but the line continued to creep after an initial drop--50/50 on o/u so why did it do that my opinion was sharps moving kinda like your satement regarding the Celts tonight.. Any chance you could email me a copy of what your sheets look like--if not I understand I am a working stiff trying to make life a lil easier thats all. Thanks for giving me some of your time.:toast:

Expect bulk of $ to come in on Lakers versus Bulls at 9.5 spread; unlike last year though, Chicago depleted, beat up, Del Negro on the hot seat, and team in utter disarray. Lakers w/ nothing to prove other than leave town w/ a W - an absolute shellacking? Not sure that the Lakers despise the Bulls to that extent.

San Antonio - will be interesting to see them on back-to-back/4-in-5 situations; b/c of the day of rest they've enjoyed b/w hammering the Clippers and the Phoenix game, they ought to be somewhat refreshed. The older legs they sport likely will be of consequence when the window of recovery isn't as forgiving as this situation.

Mac,
My advice would be to start tracking ALL of your picks, not just your action. After the end of each day, you have to go back and make notes. Things like why you made the play and why you were right and why you were wrong. I know it's a lot of work, trust me, I know. But this is what's going to get you over the juice. There is value in every side so long as you figure out how the NBA is playing at the time. Last year, 90% of my action was on the under. That's how the NBA was, Last Year. This year, so far, I'm playing dogs. It'll change in a heartbeat so you have to stay on top of it.
As far as my capping sheets/notes. It would not make any sense at all. It doesn't predict games but instead paints a picture so I can see what's going on. I've never shared these with anyone before Grindstone. It's going to take some time for him to learn the full routine. I'm only doing this because I might be getting out of this game soon and I made a promise to pass it along just as it was given to me. Sorry Mac.

Addendum -> Spurs...

Will take mental notes when the season is 2/3 or 3/4 in and see how the big 3 of Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili are holding up; although Parker hasn't hit 30 like the other 2, b/c of the amount of competitive basketball he's played since a teenager in France means that his body likely reflects more wear and tear than a comparable 27 year old.
