why bother playing this game? after last night, is there any doubt that arkansas state is the true national champs?

i'll try to add a few things to the discussion that haven't been brought up yet.

there's a lot of talk that fsu hasn't really been tested on the ground. hogwash. they have been tested and they failed miserably. bethune-cookman ran for 182 yards against this vaunted fsu defense. granted, fsu won that game 54-6, but that's missing the point.

fsu has not lost a single game in california this year.

auburn has not won a single game in california this year.

ok, I think that covers it. everything else has been discussed ad nauseam.

fsu (-10.5) 2 units. this line, combined with the line movement, says it all. the difference is defense. auburn's is terrible. defense wins championships.

the real question for me - when fsu gets out to a big lead, will auburn continue to run the ball? I think they have to, because that gives them their best chance. but it will be interesting to see when/if they finally abandon the run.

fsu 54-6, but auburn runs for 181 yards. no way do they put up bethune-cookman numbers.

*one interesting note from the bethune-cookman/fsu game... the wildcats had a 12-minute edge in ToP.

First and foremost, sorry we didn't get Danica last night!! In all seriousness smitty, I enjoy ur write ups and have no idea how well u do. Ur stuff is good reading! I stated the same in another post that defense is the huge disparity in this game. Birthday boy Jamis is gonna shred the papermache defense out of auburn Alabama. Noles put up 45!

don't worry. I'm sure if you click on godaddy.com after the superbowl commercial, this will be the year when we see those tatas!

my mediocre record is posted below for all to see.

I am nowhere near as confident as I was with 'bama last year, but as soon as the line came out, I knew I'd be on the noles. only concern - if auburn does keep this close for a while, we have no idea how fsu will handle it. I mean, only one team was competitive with them this year - boston college. how will they react if auburn runs the ball down their throat for a score the first drive or two? how will Winston react if he throws an early pick?

hopefully none of that will matter. go noles! :toast:
