I don't know how many of you guys care about college baseball, but I thought I'd throw this out there.

This is the last year for Rosenblatt Stadium and I have always wanted to see a CWS game there....so this is my year. I am planning on going the first weekend: arriving Friday night 6/18, leaving Sunday night 6/20. That would give me plenty of time to get my fill of the place and I wouldn't have to burn up any vacation time.

If anyone else is interested, let me know.

It's been a few years since I've been, but have been numerous times and think it is a great experience despite being in such a small locale. You are going to see as competitive games as you will in any amateur sport. The atmosphere of having fans from 8 different schools, as well as a decent amount of baseball fans of schools that didn't make it is also unique and adds to the experience.

I'll be there but am coming in mid-week (23rd) through the championship series.

How does the ticket thing work? Do you buy a pass to come in for as long as you can handle it or do they vacate the stadium after each game?

Each game is ticketed separately so the stadium is cleared. They use to have "session" tickets for the opening weekend good for both games in 1 day, but they did away with that a year or two ago.

I grew up in Omaha...

I grew up in Omaha...

Been to the CWS a million times. It's fun, but I would suggest getting a cab to go down there. Parking is a bitch if you haven't heard.

There's not much for nightlife. Here are some cool bars:

Good 80's bar (a lot of fun on the weekends)

Arthur's

Good bar with stiff drinks if you're looking to get fucked up

The Green Onion

Good bar in the Old Market

Upstream Brewing Company (Over X amount of beers on tap)

Have fun, I was glad to get out of that city 10 years ago.

parking isn't too bad if you get there early enough. There are some side streets a few blocks away that have parking and then there are other choices. Can't remember the name but there is a church down the road from the stadium that has alright priced parking. Don't mind paying to them.

Probably so, I'd park at the church before I'd park anywhere else. I usually had season tix to Omaha Royals at Rosenblatt stadium so we wouldn't have to worry about it much. Rosenblatt stadium isn't located in the "wealthiest" part of town. The thing I always got a kick out of is how the houses located around the stadium would try to charge people $20-25 to park in their lawn. They were always filled up to - cars parked in the middle of their lawn in the grass and such.
