Gman,
We haven't spoken in a few years but this is the old ballsweat from Vegas. See that you are doing very well as usual and with none of that abuse from the other site that we used to post. Recently moved to ATL and quite different. Keep up the great work.

boise state broncos

a couple of reasons why i think boise is the way to go here:

* im not sure louisville's defense can hold up as a double-digit chalk against a solid opponent. memphis gashed them for 600+ yards of offense (williams for 200+ on the ground), and miami went for 430+. obviously, louisville generated a hell of a lot of offense themselves, but its tough to lay DD if your defense cant get consistent stops.

* boise is the quintessential rushing dog. theyre 11th in the country in rushing and have the ability to control the clock and keep the louisville offense off the field for extended stretches if need be. i always like to give good rushing dogs looks in bowls because they dont have a lot of 3 and outs and they can sustain drives.

* boise is a big game team. their struggles came in uninspired heavy chalk roles. in their two 'big games', they dismantled both oregon state (53-34) and fresno state (33-16). when the chips are down, this team comes to play.

* boise can at least make louisville relatively one-dimensional. bsu stops the run very well (#4 in the nation, and held a solid fresno rushing attack to 17 yards). no secret that louisville's secondary isnt the greatest but they at least have the ability to stop the louisville ground attack.

* broncos have solid special teams. kicking game is excellent, and punt return is 16+yd per return.

* i do have a little bit of a concern with boise in the turnover department, so zabransky needs to take care of the ball

* theres nothing 'bad' i can say about louisville. im not going to twist stats to make them somehow not a good team. fact is, theyre damn good. but as good as they are, theyre not 10+ points better than boise. ill take my chances that boise can match the ville score for score. and i love boise's ability to run the football. to me, the playing field is level. louisville doesnt outclass boise. i think the broncs have a real shot to win this game.

Great job so far, but Boise on the road is a very scary proposition. They have not played well this year away from home. If Louisville can get a couple of stops early, I think this game could get ugly.

Here's something I picked up elsewhere and it sounds pery good.
This could be the game of the year of whats left of the remaining bowl games. Orten's on his way out and I know he is going to want to leave with a bang. Yes, he knocked himself out of the Heisman running earlier this year, but still has NFL potential and will want to make a statement by playing well in his last game.

Arizona St. played well all year long. They however did suffer a huge setback by Arizona their instate rival. I think the game is over even before it starts. With star QB Andrew Walter out due to a dislocated shoulder and leading rusher Hakin Hill, its plain and simple, Arizona won't be able to match the overpowering Purdue point for point. Purdue's D ranks as one of the best in the nation to begin with.

Purdue also is one of 8 teams to play in a bowl game the last 8 years. Experience: Purdue

Purdue will win this game for all the reasons you can think of

purdue boilermakers under 57

could be dead wrong, but i dont think koetter is gonna want to sling it all over the field from the opening kick. i think the first half could be relatively conservative while giving keller a chance to settle in. purdue's defense has been solid in big games this year. a lot of games have been going over lately, but i think this one has a lot fewer points than expected.

florida gators (+4)

amazing to think that neither of these teams are playing on new years day. but florida showed some life to finish off the season and i think they keep the momentum going into the meyer era. miami grossly underachieved and while they are certainly capable of winning this one by 7 or 10, i really think florida wins outright. no earth-shattering logic, just riding out the hot string.

catch you guys in 2005.
