Ole Miss - dammit

Hoping you liked Memphis - talk to me about this one

Miss has a big edge at OL, RB and DL. I like the QB competition, and hope Adams wins the job. 2nd year under this OC gives them a bit of continuity on O after 3 different OCs last 3 years. Miss D loses LBs, but I like the hire of Thompson at DC.

I certainly haven't decided if I'll back ole Miss here, but I can't see a reason to back Mem and their 1 dimensional attack. Hoypefully Hankins' play suffers early from dealing with his 3rd OC in 3 years.

Leaing towards Miss St myself Cie, but would be a little nervous going against S Carolina...Spurrier seems to always beat up on and cover against teams he is supposed to beat? Have been impressed with ULM ever since they played Kansas and Kentucky close and don't think Tulsa will be as good as last year.

Don't want to sound like a homer, but I like the Vols getting 5. I thought this would be a 3 pt spread max. Vols usually cover as a dog, but Cal had the coaching advantage as always.

We say that alot down here in Knoxville:mj07:

Forgot a lean:

Kan St +13

K St or nothing here. Sure Aub returns Cox and some nice RBs, but Aub has ?? on OL, with only 1 returning starter. The remainder of the starting OL has 5 combined starts.

Defensively, the DL is strong, but new faces at LB and surprisingly unathletic secondary could present a problem. Will Muschamp is an overrated DC.

I look for KSt to show continued improvement @ QB. Freeman grew under his OC LY. Much better player statistically 2nd half of the season. TY KSt returns solid experience at OL, RB, TE and athletic #1 WR returns. I think this O can cause some problems this year.

Lots of losses at LB, and I know little of the new DC. Secondary looks to be strong, as does DL.

A team to keep an eye on imo.

I have looked very little at that game, although I definitely prefer Vols, as I can see tham running the ball well again vs. Cal this year.

I just noticed you live in Knoxville. The cops sure are dicks there. Ever hear that before??

one thing to consider...starting CB Dee Morley was dismissed from UT yesterday for academic reasons. i know they return all conference DB eric berry, and signed two JUCO guys in the secondary this year. morley was a real talent though. we'll see.

I appreciate your input, but D. Morley, SS, was dismissed from the team in january according to my notes. I just read that leading rusher Lamarcus Coker was suspended from the team within the past couple of days for undisclosed reasons.

BTW, Eric Berry is a highly-touted true frosh, not a returning all-conference player. Berry played QB in HS, but will apparently play CB for the Vols .

The Vols do have a returning All SEC DB returning in FS Hefney, who received 2nd team honors LY according to Phil Steele's CFB Preview.

yeah, i think the coaches have known for quite a while that he wasn't going to be around, but it is official now. you're right about berry. meant hefney. the coker suspension is indefinite. no telling when he'll be back. my guess is in time for the FL game.

Whats up Cie... glad its football season again!!!! Cant wait for that first game Thurs night here in Starkville... man its gonna be wild... to be honest with you, LSU is gonna beat us like a high school team... We ( State ) are not good... The past 2 years State started off the season really slow and picked it up a little after homecoming... Never play LSU good either... Everyone here in Starkville is wonderin why we are playin LSU our first game:shrug: ... This will be a good warm up game for the tigers...

i hope you're right, especially if I don't lay $$ in Miss St. I think LSU may struggle early in the season offensively. GL:weed:
