here's what's important to me.

#1 - as small as possible. i hate carrying things around but in this day i definitely need a cell phone so priority #1 is size. i have a razr for over 2 years and i like it but the battery doesn't last for shit which brings me to priority #2.

#2 - i want a phone that has a battery that lasts. this razr last only about an hour of straight talking which is not acceptable anymore.

#3 - since texting is so damn popular i would like a regular keyboard. hell, with this thing it takes me 5 minutes just to say hi and forget answering a question or typing a sentence.

i do not need internet or email or that ear thing..

i think dawgball has something i'm interested in but i didn't have a chance to ask him about it when i saw him last week.

thanks

btw, i am on verizon and am not going to switch providers.

try the lg env2 phone

lg-env2-vx9100-verizon.jpg

It has a regular number pad on the front for making calls and dialing numbers, and then flips open for a full keyboard

As for battery life, they make extended battery's that are bigger/thicker but they last for days. don't buy them at verizon, check out websites like shopcell.com or accessorygeeks.com both which I have ordered some cell phone stuff from recently. With all the different types of battery's I bought this recently
http://www.accessorygeeks.com/universal-travel-charger.html

It has been able to charge 4 different types of cell phone batterys and two different digital camera battery's. Takes a while to charge, but good to have

edit, they have it in black also

if you don't want the internet and media stuff, then don't bother getting a phone with a keyboard just so you can text once or twice a week. :mj07: Get a good Nokia that will have more battery life for you, and they come small. I have a 6126 which is of course already dated, but the newer version of it should be fine. It's a great little utilitarian phone with very few frills. Very glad to hear that you don't want an 'ear thing'. :mj07: :142smilie

i don't need all that internet and email stuff but i have to have the regular keyboard

i don't mind paying extra for the shit i won't use unless the plans are ridiculous but i'm sure i don't have to have the extras included in my plan.

I've got the LG EnV2 as well.
LOVE IT.

i'd recommend you get a cheap little hands free bluetooth earpiece for it right away. with the size and shape of the EnV it just felt "weird" holding it up and talking into it.
I got used to it, but ever since i got one of those headpiece thingies it's made my world a whole lot nicer.

the battery seems to last forever in this thing too. charges quick and i'm off to the races over and over again.

How about two empty soup cans and a piece of string??

Just sayin......

I have a blackberry and it suits me just fine but the one that Marine and all the other guys are talking about is a very good phone, course Marine's smells a little like poop for some reason but whatever:shrug:

Hope that helps,
FDC

Love my Blackberry Storm.....

Worth looking into....
a lot of negatives on cnet about that phone especially with reception and the phone part is my main concern. i don't need those other bells and whistles.

thanks

vinnie, i have that phone and the battery doesn't last long at all. i don't have the "luxury" model though

Jack, since you don't need a phone with advanced features, I think you might like this one.
