I dont necessarily need a 4X4 as I have an older one I could always drive when the weather is bad.

I have no clue when it comes to shopping for transportation..........

Anyone maybe just thrilled with something they have bought recently......not sure how much I want to spend but I will be making decent $$$$ finally.

Buy a year used at 15k - 25k miles. Save at least 25%

Of that:
put 15% or 6500 in an ira
Take 10% and take a trip with your girl. Somewhere if married, she wants to go, not you. If you're dating it doesn't matter:mj07:

You'll have a new car, money for retirement, and new memories for the rest of your life

Also, here is the key.

Find the car you want and figure out the monthly payments...

Put those payments in a savings account for six months and THEN decide if you want 36-48 months of this payment.

Plus, end of year means EVEN cheaper prices and you'll feel good about the nice down payment.

Trust me,

Loved my VW Jetta. Great gas mileage, very safe car, and a trunk big enough to fit at least 20 cases of beer in.

what part of WY, if I may ask? What brand were you thinking?

Buying new and taking the depreciation if you are gonna give it the best maintenence and drive it a decade or more is not a big issue. Yes you can buy for less with a few miles on it, I have watched this for years, but sometimes that one year old vehicle with 10-18 K miles or so, has only had the oil changed once or never and driven like a rented mule:nono:

I knew of a gentleman that traded every year on his birthday, wrote a check, but we never saw him the rest of the year, so the 8 - 10,000 miles were all on one chassis lube and one pan full of oil and one oil filter.

I will be glad to give the inside scoop on the brands that I know or tell you who to check with to avoid a lesser quality model in an unknown brand.

Regardless, congrats on the new job :toast:

The Toyota's you buy here are made here.

Hey there big guy - they are "assembled" here not made.

FACT: American cars are built with cheap parts.

FACT: Foreign cars are built with quality parts.

MYTH: American cars are just as good as foreign cars.

How in the hell do people not know this. I do know that the Chrysler Town & Country is still made with shitty parts. The New Ford Taurus is NOW built with high quality parts and some other domestics as well. HOWEVER!!!!!!!!! American car makers had their chance and they fucked up. They should have made better cars - that is what caused their downfall in the first place. Lack of consumer confidence.

Yes but only half of the components are made here. I was mainly refering to the 8 million recalls toyota has incured the last couple of years. I am sure they are still good vehicles but saying American made cars and trucks suck ass is false.

Nope. Americans can't build cars in mass production.

Caddys
Lincolns
Trucks

aren't too bad, but still overall - American cars suck ass

JACK LOVES HIS..

Wyoming : I'd have a AWD SUV that gets good gas mileage as Obama & Geithner are not going to stop printing money (at least not til just before election so O looks good) therefore gas will always be outrageous..
In Wyoming I would not want to be caught out driving w/o some sort of awd/4wd...
My 4runner runs perfect and looks great even after 200,000 hard miles.. If you take care of the vehicle it will last decades...

I totally agree that you can get lucky sometimes and get a good one. Your voyager is the only one though that made it that far. You hit the lottery with 2.
