Some interesting thoughts in here but none of them explain why the spread is 9 for two teams that know each other so well. Something is up, and as a Pats fan, I think Vegas knows that the Pats could pretty easily win this game by a few scores.

A couple perceptions here that some of you guys need to change and I will give it from a Pats perspective cause thats what I know.

McCourty plays a better then average CF imo. He can play CF w/ anyone cause he's pretty damn fast. The guy from the Texans on the kickoff had a 10 yard headstart from the 40 and McCOurty tracked him down. Thats pretty fast, gaining 10 yards in 50-60 yards of field, so yes, he has very good range in CF actually and has made a bunch of plays this year cutting across the field.

This whole defense came together with the addition of Talib. He changed it all. If Talib can pretty much shutdown Andre Johnson man to man, then I think he can handle either Boldin or Torrie. He's a bigger corner and that will work to his benefit against the bigger recievers like Boldin.

The Pats run defense could arguably be the best left in the playoffs. Wilfork is a monster and the all SEC LB corp plays pretty old school football and stuffs the run very well, especially in the middle. Again, they pretty much shutdown Foster last week, but Rice is a bit quicker and shiftier for them whcih has a tendency to give a Pats defense more issues then a bigger back. The Pats really just need to make sure that Rice doesn't get outside.

As far as those big plays that the Ravens got last week, they will be less likely to happen this week because simply, Bellichicks whole defense is predicated on not giving up the homerun. They are extremely disciplined like that. Bend don't break type.

For the life of me I have no idea why the spread is 9. These are two evenly matched teams that know each other so well and neither team is going to crumble under the pressure. Both teams are TTT....tournament tested tough! But clearly something is up.

Just wanted to make sure you guys who are gonna lay the money have all the facts  This is not the Pats defense that Flacco threw 380 yards on back in week 3 just so you all know that. Its much better, and again, personally I think it was all because of Talib. He made the difference.

When is the last time a +330 ML won in the playoofs in back to back weeks? I have no idea how you don't take the Ravens w/ the 9. I think Vegas just thinks the Pats are better and there has to be a mismatch we are all missing for the number to be so high. Or maybe it can just be summed up in 3 words. Brady and Bellichick. Those guys are the best at what they do.

Good luck to all, shoud be a good one, but it wouldn't surprise me if the final is 40-24 or something. I don't see the Ravens putting up another 30 spot on the Pats in Foxboro.

Jack u mentioned earlier about getting the 9 points. Is that really what u want. Of course not YOU are the biggest homer on YOUR site, I'm sure u want them to win straight up. NO WAY they win straight up. If it was at balt, maybe, but not in foxboro.

No shit u have to have receivers to throw to, duh. 100+ of his yards were on 3 plays, with 1 being a hail mary that Champ Bailey slipped on a fucking banana peel.

Flacco has a rifle, but he can't and won't pick the D apart, it's not his MO. For u to be hanging ur hat on PI or BOMBS is laughable.

BTW, SF is the best bet of the weekend

ummm... we have a good running game too.

You saying that they can't win is laughable.

I took 9 and the ML.

I guess we'll find out Sunday. Nobody gave them a chance last week either.

Jack we still on for the Hat bet??I think it will be a VERY close game and would take the points in a heart beat...I think these teams are even except for the Kicking game...haha...but if you want I will give u +4 for the hat bet since home field is worth 3....I am worried about your return game as our kicking coverage/kickoffs SUCK and Jones is above average but I'm 3-0 at Championship Games and 1-0 at SB's so maybe I will have to attend another one in 2 weeks to break this 0-2 slump!! Fucking snow storm might fuck up my flight tomorrow but can't wait to get there for Game....hope the winner takes the SB:toast: :toast: :toast:

ok you all seem to forget that Patriots just waxed the far better defense and offense than Ravens posses in the Texans team.

They did it twice to them which speaks volumes

Ravens also got hammered by texans and it was ugly @ houston + 7 1/2 points ravens got buried 43-13 note also texans bosted the #6 rank defense solid vs the run and pass but they hit that trend thing really losing 3 out of final 4 games

Ravens beat a way over rated Broncos team

got stone lucky in that game with hail mary passes.

I can't see ravens hanging close in 2nd half after all that emotional stuff after broncos win. have to feel ravens are daed falt out of energyand motivation of Ray Lewis final saeson is worn out now 2 games they played for Ray to get him back to the superbowl

it's amazing this team made it into playoffs with that very pedestrian + 1.5 ypg more than all 16 oppenents

Hey be great to see two brothers in the bowl but get thid stright Defense wins champinshiops and 49ers ranked 2nd in defense with top ranked offense

Don'y go there about Tie game with rams and loss look at Giants last year lost twice to redskins thier div rival beat them twice but did it matter?

Giants made it on defense vs weak defensive teams Falcons at Home in NY @ packers and that joke of 49ers team last year!

GO my old 49ers team the Montna and Young 49ers i loved

and and guess what guys 49ers win thier 6th lombardi matching steelers but SF never lost a superbowl

Big, bad patriots went a whopping 3-3 vs winning teams this season.

ummmmmm slightly off at 3-3 vs wiining teams

LOST to cards who were 1-0

lost to Ravens who were 1-1 ( but a winning team)

Beat broncos 1 W 2 L

L @ Seat 1 W 3 L

Baet Colts 2 W 3 L

Baet Texans 3 w 3 L

LOST to SF 3 W 4 L

week 2 home loss to cardinals has to open peoples eyes

BUT i have new system in play now which put me on cardinals + 14 1/2 points in that game!

SYSTEM is to fade any team that stole a Win due to ref's calls or non calls or because of stupid personal foul by player on other team

so far it is 100% going back to 2011

5 teams who won games gifted by goofy rules or non calls all lost as favorites in next game even after a bye week they lost as home favorites as long as foe was still playing and reasonably healthy

line is high to try and get equal action on both sides sure ravens are playing with Ray Ray motivating them but i think now the emotional gas tank is empty

Patriots are far better team than Broncos were true defense is low ranked again

but they make plays and they struggled with texans for 3 quaters but put up 14 points in 4th to pull off a two td win by 13 points as a 10 1/2 point favorite game day odds

i thought for sure i had a winner with texans + 9 1/2 after seeing that adjusted line move due to Patriots money pouring in.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Picking the patriots but I do like Baltimores defense compared to the Texans right now if comparing defenses. So what the Pars scored a ton on the Texans. Texans have given up and average of 27 in last 7 games and were shredded by good passing teams.

Baltimore maybe this years Giants and it was a good thing Lewis was hurt earlier cause he looks fresh now. Balty looks "too easy" for me.

+4?

That's generous since the line is 8.

I'll take 8, not gonna give the edge.

I'll do straight up if I win 3 hats and you win 1.

Contrary to popular belief, Talib has been extremely vulnerable since he joined the Pats. He?s been targeted 42 times with 28 receptions for 376 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT. :0008

THIS.

However, to that point, he was the best CB on the team once he came up here. Furthermore, he allowed Kyle Arrington and Alfonzo Dennard to move down one slot on the depth chart to where they should actually be playing. Most importantly, it allowed Devin McCourty to move to Safety, and allow he and Steve Gregory to roam and get Pat Chung who is oft exposed in coverage on the field less, and more situationally.

Talib coming to the Pats changed the whole defense, I don't care what anyone says. Talib was targeted 11 times last week and gave up 8 catches, but was Johnson even a factor last week? This is not the same defense that played in week 3 where the pass interference calls basically won the Ravens the game :nono:

Anyone watch the replay of the game last night on NFL network. Penalties played a huge factor in that game for both teams. Last I remember hearing on the broadcast was 21 penalties accepted.
