My wife's new laptop is not printing. I downloaded the driver off the net, set it up to look just like my laptop, yet it won't print. Her laptop recognizes the printer and is set for it to be the default printer, but nothing prints. I don't even get an error message, it says printing, then it says deleting. Anybody know what is happening here?

Huh? I don't uderstand. How do I share it off my computer?

This will allow her to print from her computer to the printer, but your laptop must be turned on and hooked to a printer.

What is the type and model of the printer?

Remind me the Operating System's you are using?

Windows XP
Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, then double-click Network Connections. Right-click on Local Area Connection, then select Properties. Make sure the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks box is checked. Click OK.

Next, click Start, Settings, then Printers and Faxes. Right-click the printer you want to share, then click Sharing. Click Share this printer and type the name you want displayed on other people's computers representing the printer you are sharing. Click OK.

A shared resource has an icon that appears as a hand holding the shared resource (e.g., a hand holding a folder in Windows Explorer means the folder is shared).

Windows Vista

Click the Windows icon, Control Panel, then select the Network and Sharing Center icon. Click the down arrow button next to Printer Sharing and select the radio button next to Turn on printer sharing. Click Apply . You will then be asked to give your permission to continue; click Continue. You can then close this window.

Click the Windows icon, Control Panel, then Printers. Right-click the printer you want to share, then click Sharing. If the name appearing in the Share Name field is not what you want displayed on other people's computers representing the printer you are sharing, click Change Sharing Options and rename it.

A shared printer has a picture of two people in front of the printer icon
