steer clear from teh 13" screens, and even the 15" screens as much as possible.
If you get a 13-15" screen, you are going to end up buying a bigger monitor to stand alone, and then likely ending up grabbing a keyboard and mouse as well and turning the laptop into a docking station.
The amount of dollars you'll spend on that set up, would be better spent and probably equivalent to getting a 17inch screen to start with.
Hard drive size - i wouldn't worry about this too much either. If you can find a good deal on one with less hard drive space.. grab it. Don't make this be a decision maker for you. External HD's are cheap and huge. You're going to want one anyway for backing up all your stuff, so the amount of space you have on the laptop itself really won't matter much. Just grab a 1TB hard drive and plug that sucker in.
