Where yat, Wineguy. I was originally gonna drive to Hattiesburg for a pig roast today, but have opted to stick around New Orleans for a pig roast in mid-city hosted by another buddy of mine. Let me know if you want to stop by.

just got back and i had a great time! great food, po boys, seafood, .....wow was fantastic. night life was what i thought it was going to be. :00hour

Bankkock Inn was suggested, lol but i didn't find the time only walked by. Real shady.

At one point i thought the bama boys were going to burn the town down. It was like the whole state of alabama was on bourbon street on jan1. Southern folk are some of the nicest ppl i have ever met. I met ppl from all over the world and all parts of the US. Was truly a great experience and highly recommend to some1 who has never gone.

We just got back as well and am sooo sorry I did not take the laptop to see the posts and get in touch, Cie and LA. Totally apologize but we left for Nawlins' earlier than expected. kurby
We had a total blast and it truly is spectacular food. Had the combo po boy with oysters and shrimp at Parkway Bakery, local favorites by our hosts....Central Grocery muffaleta....both amazing.....they definitely do no skimp on the portions. :00hour :00hour Neither of us could finish the whole large sandwiches. Also had a blast in the Quarter and will definitely be back. Architecture is unbelievable simply because it seems that EVERY single house is different

Angelas cousins live in the Mid-City area and have renovated an absolutely beautiful house across from the Fairgrounds track. Went to the races New Years Day and had fun....won 53 dollars so paid for itself. Hung out at Jackson Square New Year's afternoon....very touristy for sure. Went to Mass at 5 there in Jackson Square...what a beautiful Church!!

Went to the Degas House the 30th for a fundraiser and the Art was fantastic.

Went with a group and sorry I didn't get in touch with you Cie and LA. We decided right then that Mardi Gras weekend before Fat Tuesday we are there around February 20th ish. Need to see it and experience the parades. Gotta go...heading to STATS sportsbar downtown here in the ATL for the Falcons party. Go Falcons!!!!!

frenchman street was very cool as well. More locals but not even close to how crowded it was on bourbon. Frenchman has music of ever variety, also every :toast: u can think of. Abita beer!

Wineguy did u check out the Fanfare next to the big baby/Brewery place.

Nope, did not see Fanfare, but did have Abita beer with my Po Boys :00hour The first night we were on Frenchman as well watching bands. Very true more of a locals place. Awesome music. Avoided many "one drink minimum" requirements by having a to go cup and filling it up every so often with our own Crown bottle in a big purse :SIB I don't feel bad though because New Orleans got plenty of my money. :mj07:

I will be there Feb 19-22nd and my cousin is the Ops manager at Fat Tuesdays... Drink on me... errrr, him...

Stats is a great place by the way.
