Hey gang.

Let's get ready to do this football thing!! :00hour

Baltimore v. Washington under 31.5

I think at this stage I'd just about take this number in a reg. season game between these two!
The Washington offense is really struggling to gel behind a pretty ordinary O-line, Collins will be steady, Brenan might try to fling a few passes late...
...but this is a very deep Ravens D...esp. on the line where there is big competitions for spots, so who-ever is out there under centre probably won't have much time to do anything!
Zorn hasn't shown any interest in scoring pre-season...take out a HOF 30 point effort , (with 9 non-offensive points anyway)...they've scored 17, 13, 3, 3 last year...
...14, 10, 13, 14...3, 14, 0, 10 previous 2 years.
Ravens look to be struggling themselves offensively...on Monday they had 9 goes at driving the length of the field for an OT win...and crossed midfield just once!...7 punts a fumble and a pick.
Again, just 16, 15, 10, 9 points last year, so no real intent...
...add that the cross town 'friendliness' of it all...last 3 pre-season meetings (2 in last 3 years) have been 7-13, 17-10 and 3-24 in '03.

Pretty sure this will be another low-scorer...decent number having the 21-10 covered.

GB v. Cleveland OVER 34

Two teams who don't care much for pre-season defense...(not that the Browns have much of a choice!)...Both gave up over 25 ppg last year.
Packers look to be having big problems defesively already with a lot of injuries and players trying to learn the 3-4...
...Cleveland have had Quinn throwing deep a lot in practice, and they have good depth with Ratliff who has also been working (and scoring) with the first team offense. [He's also got some pretty good numbers from previous NFLX games with the Jets].
Browns should be able to score.
Packers have a settled QB rotation (scored 17+ in 3 of 4 last year) and should also be able to get on the board against a pretty poor Cleveland D.

Will no doubt be a couple more to come...

Good Luck all

Thanks guys. Certainly looking forward to a big year of football ahead. :toast:

And great memory, xbigpappa...better still that you didn't mention the .500 run since! :142smilie

[Not entirely sure how I feel about being your dude there g-dub... ;) ]

Indi v. Minni under 35

No Sorgi for Indi, leaves them with Manning for his customary series...
[...they scored 16, 20, 16, 7, 7 last year without him...he threw 13 passes in non-wk 3 games 2007, 14 in 2006...]
...leaving them with Curtis Painter to go the distance.
I know Minni have (and have had) a mini-QB controversy, but that doesn't make them any better! :D (See Washington today as case in point!)
Their O-line is a mess, and their passing game has been awful...We've got a lot of work to do," quarterback Tarvaris Jackson said. "We've got to kind of find ourselves. We know we can run the football. We've proven that. We've just got to get our offense, as far as our passing game -- like Coach said, when we have to throw the football, can we throw it? Not just on running downs and first downs. When we have to throw the football late in the game, can we do it? We've just got to try and get to that level and be consistent."

Shiancoe said the offense needs to shore up several areas.

...so it sounds to me that they are more worried about the process than any result (ie. scoring!).

Indi D is said to be rejuvinated under their 'new' (but not really) system...
Not sure either team is going to have much success moving the ball here.

Hey PAWA...

...I see the 'system' is ensuring there's plenty of spare change to throw about at this overseas stuff again this year. :00hour :toast:

Denver @ SF OVER 34

Actually aproaching this one like a 'real' game...
...'cause it desn't matter if they are playing for real or not, this Denver D still sucks pretty bad!
Still having al sorts of problems stopping the run and generating any kind of pressure on the QB.
Hill had this offense moving pretty well last year, 35, 24, 27 in his 3 home games.
Smith playing catch up will want to impress, and has been throwing accurate deep balls in practice.
Huard is more than handy too...
Seems like the starters for Denver will get an extended run...Orton has been pretty good in practice, particularly with Stockley.
Simms and the rookie worry me a bit late, but if it's not over by then I'm sure SF will take care of it. :D
