I'll tell you what, I disagree with a lot of this thread.

I don't believe in a lot of this bullshit, I believe in second chances and I know collection agencies aren't ones to give them. I had Brinks Home Security install a home security system in my house once because I got robbed. Anyway, they installed a faulty security system. I let them know about it, and they told me to fuck off basically. I called and talked to the VP and he basically told me to fuck off. I stopped paying the bills and they sent it to a collection agency and in the meantime I sued the fucking shit out of them in district court by myself w/o an attorney. They had some fucking corporate lawyer from a firm in McLean, VA and filed a countersuit against me because I signed a 2 year contract. We told our stories to the judge and I won, the judge told me I could return the equipment if I wished so I approached the lawyer after court and asked her if Brinks would like to come get their fucking shitty malfunctioning equipment. I have never seen a broad so pissed off in my life, she said they might sue me again. I said go ahead, I just won and I might sue you again for harassment and I don't like your tone. Never saw any collection letters again and cashed a fat check.

Am the one that made you take out a home loan/car loan/personal loan that you couldn't pay back? Fuck, no. Am I the one thats gonna make you give back the shit that you bought that you can't AFFORD? you damn right I am.
Moral of the story? Don't borrow money you can't pay back. And this clown that Hedgehog is talking about? he had TONS of chances to either turn the car in himself or make the payments he agreed to..and he didn't DO A FUCKING THING!

he paid on time for about 1 year then he supposedly lost his job, by the way his wife never lost her job, his payment was 450, he told me he could only pay 300, we agreed in April, he paid 300 each month til September and hasnt paid anything since, tells me he is going to turn vehicle in, Friday told me he was not going to pay us but he needed the vehicle for 2 more weeks, and hung up on me, so I put it out for repo. fuck him

While I agree that repossesion/eviction is often warranted, it does not mean that I receive any satisfaction in taking this course of action. I have a young family and a great web of friends, so my enjoyment and satisfaction in life normally takes place in those arenas. I am a property adjuster, so I often deny coverage (roughly 38% of the time). I guess you'll be surprised to read that my main source of satisfaction in that arena is when I am able to provide coverage. I also own rental property, and last year I evicted 2 tenants for nonpayment of rent. I evicted both households, but I did not enjoy it either time. I simpy had no alternative.


No one can blame me, hedge, you, Jamaica 97 or counting guy for doing our "jobs", but taking satisfaction from the misery of others is just plain sick imo.

I totally agree that it is wrong to take any pleasure in the misery of others-- my post is too harsh, I know...
Being in the business means hearing so many stories--some truthful, most just a bunch of lies-that it is hard to not be totally cynical about having to evict, repo'ing a car, etc etc.
Maybe Hedgehog does take pleasure in this; I don't know. I don't; I never have and never will--regardless of how my drunken ramblings from last night may read.
Worst for me is being present at an eviction when there are kids involved. If that brings anyone pleasure...

I should have never posted the thread. I was frustrated Friday afternoon with all the people lieing to me over the last month, nothing more nothing less...to finally get this guy's vehicle is going to be very satisfying since I have been dealing with him for the last 9 months and all his lies and benefits of the doubt. Thats all. I am a very nice person in real life, sometimes I get carried away on here and over do it, trying to either be funny or just to stir the pot.
