2002 Maryland 11-3 (yeah, they were terrible)

Maryland 2002 was NOT a good football team pal. Wofford, Eastern Michigan, Akron? They shouldve won 14 with that schedule. HALF of division 1 teams in a BCS conference, could win 11 games if they added non-conference games like those to the schedule. Can you read? How do you miss things like that. Keep workin on those research skills. I'm sure they will serve you well in your custodial duties

All your posts lead back to Auburn. Like I said, good luck in the Washington Apple Bowl or whereever you are playing. I hope they win 56-1 so you can beat your peter all night long.

Two words.... Charlie Weis.

I'm by no means a ND fan, but those past failures have nothing to do with this year's bowl game versus Ohio St. The fact that OSU has a great defense, a decent offense and a great bowl game coach does hold relevance (sp?).

Great point! What does the past have to do with ND's chances this year? What is the POINT of this thread? The guys who played on the 94 ND team OWN that big office building where Aub2001 works as a janitor, so I guess maybe he is bitter?? Who knows.

If you wanna talk about ND's chances talk about this YEAR's TEAM. Do you see me saying ND will win because they have more heisman trophy winners and national championships than Auburn? Nope, because its irrelevant to this year's team.

Thanks for proving my point! My point was that ND was not GOOD that year. How does ANYTHING you just said disprove that? Didnt think so.

Your don't even make a point. You haven't backed your opinion up with anything other than "because I said so".

You tried to say Maryland was over-rated, and I proved you wrong. You said I didn't do my research, and you were wrong. Any team that wins 11 games while playing in the ACC is a quality team.

Call me sometime if you want to know what it's like to celebrate your team actually winning a bowl game. GL

They were overrated. How did you prove me wrong? You said Maryland beat NC STATE, who beat ND. My post said ND was not good that season, hence beating overrated Maryland didnt matter. ???

If ND wasnt good that year, which they werent, how does beating a team who beat them, prove your value?

Notre Dame played a tougher schedule in 2002. They had a win over an 11-win Maryland team, and they also beat the ACC champs Florida State. Those 2 wins alone are more than Notre Dame did this season and you haven't had a chance to lose your 8th straight bowl game, so at this point, the 2002 schedule was tougher.

Keep trying.

Key point you are missing: schedule being better does NOT mean the team was better.

Riddle me this, genius: Assume you are right for 2 seconds, ND played a tougher schedule in 2002, and went on to lose their bowl game. WTF does that have to do with ND in 2005?

My how you fail to see the OBVIOUS sometimes.

How many times must I say this? Maryland beat Wofford, Eastern Michigan, and Akron at HOME that year. Any division 1 team in a BCS conference could win 11 games by scheduling 3 non-conference games those. Without those pathetic games, they would be 8-3 and we wouldnt be having this discussion. Who the hell plays 14 games anyway?? Playing those crap teams was a joke to inflate their win total. Doesnt work against intelligent people. But you're SOLD that they were good, so I guess Maryland's marketing scheme fooled ONE moron.

From an earlier post by me:

"2002 had a tougher schedule IMO. Wins over Florida St. and Maryland.

Not saying they were a better team, but played a tougher schedule."

That's all I said. I never said 2002 team was better than 2005. All I said was the schedule was tougher, which it was. Then you tried to say it wasn't, and I merely showed you that both Maryland and FSU were quality wins that year.

Notre dame can't help how their schedule turned out this year, I never said they could. I simply said that at the end of the year, the 2002 schedule was tougher.

And you're right, that does have nothing to do with the 2005 team. But some people here like to play trends, and there is a definite trend at South Bend of getting slapped around after Christmas. That's why I posted this thread. For information purposes to other posters.

You are the one who posted the first insult in this thread, and the second, and the third, which is what usually happens when someone doesn't have anything to say.

Obviously that implies the 2002 team was better, which has NOTHING to do with how ND will do vs. OSU.

Why is ND so good? Because they have quality wins? NO! It must be because of their "quality loss" against SC or because their coach was a part of 3 Super Bowl wins in the last 4 years. I don't understand why you ND fans think your team is so good. I think it's awesome that you've learned how to get into the endzone this year. Too bad you won't be able to do it against the Buckeyes.

Yeah, that big, scary OSU team! How many quality wins do they have? Who is their best win? Let me save you time... Michigan.

I'm sure we will all of the sudden have trouble putting the football in the endzone.

No it doesn't. I was simply stating a fact that Notre Dame in 2002 beat an 11-win team, and in 2005, they will not. They also beat the ACC champ FSU in Doak Campbell which is never easy to do. That's all.

If you are going to be a good lawyer, you need to learn that you can't build a solid case based on what you think people implied.

Personally, I think 2005 ND is better, but not by a landslide.

Right. How many 11 win teams has USC beaten this year? ZERO. I guess they're no good? Since WHEN is the standard by which all teams are judged "beating an 11 win team who played Wofford?"

OK and Im simply stating that beating an 11-3 Maryland team that played WOfford, Eastern Mich, and Akron at home MEANS NOTHING.
