If it helps you out sweetheart I am in my forties with no kids and no wife. I will be able to wake up tomorrow even tho this in a way was a shot at me also.
Jabber don't let a dirt bag like this bully you. The way they vote is fifty times worse then anything you say. This guy is lecturing you about posting etiquette but if you read most of his post they are always filled with insults. Just like the one where he is trying to make his point.

Who the fukc are they, and how do they vote????

It always makes me laugh when you automatically assume that anybody that has an opinion that doesn't match yours is a "neocon". You know nothing about me or my political views.

Unfortunately, we know far too much about you, (wrestling retards in grocery stores, living in a boarding house with multiple firearms left unsecured, 15 years as a union carpenter, failed restrauntuer, etc...).

You are "dumb as dogshit" and prove it every time you hit that submit reply button.

You didn't get anything right. 1. it was a downs syndrome patient and i didn't wrestle him. Simple held him off. 2. I don't label everyone a neocon who's thoughts are opposite of mine. That is your opinion. 3. I live in a home that is owned by me. I don't live in a boarding house. The guns were not laying in my front yard they were in my house. Maybe closer to 13 years in the carpenters union. Not sure on this one. Failed restaurant? That is a funny one and seems to pop up on occasions. Look cous i know how the truth bothers you phony conservatives from time to time but you are gonna have to get over that. Now what would you like to be called? A phony self centered conservative or a neocon thinker? If you need me to clear anything else up just let me know.

He is pegging you in here somewhere.

Conservative ? Specifically a "fusionist" conservative of the National Review - Heritage Foundation mold. Someone who believes in traditional morality and capitalism, and the need for a limited government to allow both to flourish.

Neoconservative ? A "neocon" is more inclined than other conservatives toward vigorous government in the service of the goals of traditional morality and pro-business policies. Tends to favor a very strong foreign policy of America as well.

Paleoconservative ? "Paleocons" want less US involvement in foeign affairs than other conservatives and oppose mass immigration. They are also more favorably disposed toward the South and the idea of secession, or at least decentralization, than neoconservatives.

I completely agree that the educational system needs major reform. We could start with paying teachers more and putting more money into schools than into war. However, perhaps learning Spanish would actually have more applicability to real life than learning some other subjects?

When I lived in Africa, the kids sure didn't have a stable educational infrastructure, but they all spoke at least 3 languages fluently. I'm just suggesting that it might be more of a cultural dilemma than a political or even economical one. We are very ethnocentric and don't emphasize the value of other languages and cultures. I doubt any politician will ever change this, and damn obama for even suggesting we should consider catching up to other westernized nations where the majority of people speak more than one language!

I've heard many speak more than that- there are over 2000 languages in Africa--correct?
Often languages differ from adjacent regions.

They have to speak several out of necessity--rather than choice. The fact that they have no common language is detrimental I would think. In fact I believe--and correct me if I'm wrong--Sub-Saharan Africa has never produced a written language to this day.

I certainly agree learning other languages can be nothing but an asset--however in many countries it is a necessity--and may be that way here at some point in time.

I would be curious to what language everyone thought would be most beneficial to learn.

I believe I said this before but china now makes it mandatory for children to learn English-

Would like to be fluent in Chinese myself for obvious reasons--Dawgball probably Russian because of his job.

I think we'll be sharing beers next month. All I'm saying is to think about whether or not you want to post certain of your posts...or not (whatever you want to do), but judging by the fact that you remove your posts, I think you know you sometimes cross lines.

It's all good, though - the centrists will always have a place for you (unless kosar decides no - he controls everything)

I do bbc, and I regret it.

The guy you feel guilty about is nothing more then a loudmouth instigator. Or as the NBA kid would say "an effin bum" I wouldn't sweat it.

Chinese and I don't think there's really a close second place

Was thinking same Bobby--its a toughy to learn especially for us older dogs--I'm around it all the time and have picked up little--same word with diff sound inflections can mean entirely diff thing.

last time in china had wedding ceremony after the fact and wifes best friend there is married to american who teaches school there. He was big hit at wedding as he conversed with everyone and they looked at me like --you dumb fck--and they were right. :)

I'm sorry but I didn't read the entire thread, so I apologize if this has been said already.

HappyHippo you have some very well written posts, but using Africa as an example? Come on, Africa isn't really the model that our country needs to emulate right now. Those people speak all of those dialects out of necessity not out of desire. Not the best case to use to illustrate you position IMO.

Not that anyone asked me, but I think that almost all of the problems our country is facing at this point in time stems from one thing:

lack of personal responsibility

Lack of responsibility to educate themselves, their kids, keep their finances in check, stay healthy, give back to society, keep their kids healthy, etc etc etc etc etc. Too many people look at the bad things in their life and think "who can I blame for this".

Look in the ****ing mirror that's all you have to blame. Few people feel this personal responsibility anymore it's a shame.
