I listened to Obama speak last night;
I listened to Hillary speak last night;
I listened to McCain speak last night;
I thought I saw Joe Hill last night.

If America can be convinced (obviously not by his oratory) to elect George Bush twice, then certainly can be affected and hopefully moved, by powerful orators. Like Josh Hamilton for the Rangers the last two months, Obama is in a class all by himself.

I realize Kerry was a better speaker than Bush and we all know the results. However, I think Obama has a much better campaign behind him, is not as likely to get "swift boated", and is brilliant enough to devastate McCain in November.

I realize there is a bounce for Obama which should have been higher had Hillary done the right thing and conceeded last night. Instead I think she was negotiating for cabinet, senate leadership or supreme court. Obama is good. He is very good. And I think he is the republicans worst nightmare.

I think our brightly colored red southern states are going to have a very difficult time getting used to saying President Barack H. Obama, the 44th President of the United States. That will be a great day for the country and the world.

If anyone is interested, I still have my ticket to Toronto from 4 years ago and an option on a cute flat on Youge Street if any of my right wing friend would like to buy them.

Being from a red southern state I will not have a hard time saying President Barack "Hussein" Obama. It would be a great day for the world Eddie but not this country. Love the way you liberals think, looking and talking down to your fellow countrymen while worrying about how the rest of the world views US. How proud you must be.

i really don`t have a dog in this hunt(no conservatives in the race),i still have to post a disclaimer...

obama can`t possibly pay for all these proposed social programs...and he certainly can`t off the backs of corporate america......being that we`re in an economic downturn...

he scares me...i think he`ll gut our military(was already talking about downsizing our nuclear arsenal last night)...while russia, china, and india(not to mention iran,pakistan and syria) plow forward)......

he`s going to hamstring our economy with taxes,social programs out the ying yang and a "green' agenda again,while russia,china,india et al plow forward enencumbered by any self imposed impediments...

throw in the fact that he hangs out with anti-american bigots who have close associations with other anti-american bigots(wright and pflegger with fahrakhan and the home grown terrorist come to mind off the top of me noggin)...not to mention the wife,whom i dread even more than bock...

one thing i`m looking forward to...the "chick fight" between "tingle" mathews and keith overbite over who gets to be press secretary.......




we`re in for a long slog,gents....

mccain`s lame...we agree on that point....

but,given the deep closet that bock appears to have thanks to his shaky associations and his mouthy wife(she is mouthy...you gotta admit),i think there may be much more out there,given the relatively short time he`s been under the microscope...

but granted...he will have the media running interference for him....

he`s very close to a lock barring say,a tape showing "michele railing on whitey",or something similar...:SIB

Why are the republican backers in such denial? What has gone on in this country over the past 8 years that would make one vote republican? Its time to give the Democrats a chance again.

weasel --don't know if you noticed yet but since beginning of campaign with at least a thousand pro Obama posts we have yet had the 1st tell us what qualifications of his they like--despite being asked numerous times.

Edward has came close with the" he's a good speaker"--which is synonomous with the hope-change rhetoric that got their legs tingling :)

Dogs, I gave some good Obama qualities a while back which translates to something I want from my President. He is not easily rattled or upset. He is apparently very patient and thoughtful. When Hillary ran that commercial asking "who would you trust to get that phone call at 3 am?", I thought to myself - I trust the person who doesn't panic and make irrational quick decisions. I think he has this quality more than McCain or Hillary.

Of course if you simply compare job resumes, McCain has a more impressive list of experiences. ...But so did Gore over Bush, so did Bush Sr. over Clinton, etc. This will be the angle anti-Obamans will use to discredit him. ...It is a valid argument - McCain has more experience. But many of us can detect a personality quality with Obama that gives us confidence in his abilities to lead the country. It's there, it's obvious, and there is not really any argument against it.

Another quality - I believe he is less sold out to special interests than McCain or Hillary. Sure, he's not completely free from their influence - but I believe he is not as dangerously tied to them as the other two.

Dogs, I know you trivialize Obama's ability to inspire people by just calling him 'Tony Robbins', etc. BUT bottom line - wouldn't you say that his ability to inspire people is a REAL presidential quality? It's worth at least a cattle or 2, right?:shrug:
