Just because I bet on lacrosse and the WNBA doesnt mean you have to watch it. Its quite the opposite.

Hockey is the #1 sport out of the big 4 that benefits from being broadcast in HD. Its so much harder to lose the puck in high def vs. regular cable. Not saying that it isnt great to watch the other sports in HD, but the viewer loses the most with hockey.

I liked the movie Slapshot:shrug:

Wonder what would get better ratings.......the movie or the real Stanley Cup Playoffs if they were put head to head tonight?

LOL,

Manager Mike Scioscia will bolt from Angel Stadium as quickly as possible after Wednesday's matinee to attend Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals across the street with his family. "Having the Stanley Cup finals going on 200 yards away is exciting for Southern California," said Scioscia, who still has his commemorative medallion from the Flyers' inaugural game at the Philadelphia Spectrum and has fond memories of their back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 1974-75. "I remember watching the finals at home with about half our neighborhood. That was a great time to be a hockey fan growing up in Philadelphia. I liked Bobby Clarke, just because of the way he played and the way he smiled with no teeth. I liked Moose Dupont, too -- and Bob Kelly, who was like liquid excitement on the ice because of his short strides and the way he hit people. You couldn't get a ticket back then because they were sold out every game, and to get in to watch a hockey game was almost an act of Congress."

Just an FYI on why most of this city could care less about one of the original franchises. The owner has driven the team into the ground. Once, especially at the old stadium, standing room ticks were the only spots open for home games if you could get them. Now, nobody goes period. No home games are televised unless by chance it's a nationally televised game. You have no option of watching your team play unless you come across the satellite feed of the opposition. This particular owner has more money than God but refuses to spend anything on this franchise or the fans. Throw in season after season of losing and you get crappola.
