With another caller on the flop, why not raise? It was a tough beat, but could have been possibly avoided with a strong raise on the flop.

Wow, thats a rough beat...

I am not a big NL cash game player... I prefer to stick to limit... But why not check-raise the flop to maybe $140? Then when you fill up, get all your money in at that point... and make them pay to draw out on you? (Like I said, not a NL cash game player... just thinking out loud)

push the turn. he's calling anyway.

or what i like best is make a big raise on the flop. don't slow play sets.

don't be results oriented. you got your money in with the best of it. chit happens.

looks like you are going to lose the hand anyway without a big raise on the flop. which is how i think you should have played it. but that's being results oriented.

he's a huge dog on the flop which is when the money should have gone in. he's not nearly in as bad a shape on the turn, but you are still way ahead.

gl and hope you win the next one

Now that i have been playing omaha for about a couple weeks straight those beats dont look bad at all. I didnt lose as much money as schoust did, and im not trying to downplay it, that was a bad beat on the first hand, but I lost with 2nd to the nuts 3 hands in a row in 1 session, two of the three was rivered into losing the nuts.

I lost 100 playin .10-.25 pot limit omaha in just one session where I had 3 open houses beaten by 4 of a kinds! And 2 of the 3 the guys had pockets in their hands to make the 4.

Holdem is Brutal but Omaha is suicidal!
