Really? Beyond ridiculous? So are you really trying to tell me Rodney King was lucky he wasn't white? I read a story the other day how Chris Rock was recording all the times he gets pulled over in his rich gated community. So far he's been pulled over three times since January. You think he feels lucky he's black?
What about the riots from those white thugs in Kentucky? Why aren't they being pepper sprayed or the lead story? Double standard? Yeah, we have a double standard in this country alright.

Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

There is no such thing as black privilege.

Not sure what any of that has to do with the double standard in this country as it relates to how black and white perps and victims are portrayed or ignored in the media when it comes to racist actions. You do not have to convince me that the black man has had and still has it harder than the white man as any logically thinking person can see the carryover still exist its just not as explicit. I will say again, if you want to rationalize the double standard based on passed actions then go for it, but it does exist. Not sure if you have me confused with someone else, but I am and have been specifically talking about how the media handles/covers racist actions from/by various groups in this country. All the side stories and conjecture we could go back and forth on for days.

http://news.yahoo.com/fbi-investigating-2-attacks-alleged-ferguson-references-180136605.html

Investigators allege that Ford, 54, was punched by James Street at a convenience store on March 25 in Fenton. Police said Street, who is white, shouted racial slurs and told Ford, who is black, "Go back to Ferguson." Ford, who played for the Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies from 1985 to 1990, said he was punched without warning.

The 37-year-old Street is charged with third-degree assault motivated by discrimination.

The other attack ? captured on cellphone video posted on social media sites ? happened March 23, on a MetroLink light rail train in St. Louis. The victim, a 45-year-old white man, told police he declined a young black man's request to use his cellphone before the young man asked what he thought about "the Mike Brown situation." The victim answered that he hadn't given it much thought, and the young man repeatedly punched him.

Ronald Williams, 20, who is black, was charged with a misdemeanor in the attack. Williams' attorney didn't return a message seeking comment. A juvenile also was arrested in the attack.

State hate-crime charges weren't sought in the light-rail attack because there wasn't enough evidence to prove that the attack involved racial or religious motivations, said Lauren Trager, spokeswoman for St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce.

Uga,
At no time am I singling you out, I promise.

As far as media presentation of the news stories of the day and how it relates to color I really can't agree with you there. I do not think that white on black crime is more sensationalized or that there is a media bias towards sensationalizing it. For instance, when the justice department released their findings of the Michael Brown shooting. I saw plenty of news claiming that Wilson was vindicated of any wrongdoing, which wasn't true, they just didn't have enough evidence to indict, but little to nothing about the majority of the report that talked about the pattern of discrimination and fraud from the Ferguson police department. With all the findings released by that report, I would have thought that would be major news.

I will say that I do think that white on black crime, more specifically white law enforcement, has been more reported in the last few years, but that's the nature of our media lately. The majority of national news agencies are far more agenda driven than in times gone by.

This particular incident of lack thereof is a bit if an anomaly in my opinion. I understand the reaction of some to say, "if he was white" and so on. However, I think that feeling is energized by the consistent stream of recent reported incidents of white law enforcement brutality and discriminatory practices. I believe many are frustrated by seeing story after story of unarmed blacks being shot by police so when they see something like this, or the story of the cop trying to save the life of a little boy accidentally shot in a gang shootout, they want to use it as a weapon to negate all the other stories. Unfortunately, those stories are too few and far between.

This is all my opinion on it and is not directed at anyone individually.

Hope this helps,
FDC
