Last night my wife & I spent 3 hours in the animal emergency hospital because we noticed our dog (13 years old) was very listless where she wouldn't walk & wouldn't eat or drink water for the better part of the day....that was very unusual for Gina....

So we took her to the animal emergency hospital & after examining our dog, the vet determined that she wanted to take x-rays & do a blood test on Gina....

About 30 minutes later the technician asks us to follow her into the examing room....& a few minutes after that the vet comes in to tell us that Gina stopped breathing & has died....

I won't go into the details fo why Gina died....but it never fails to amaze me that one minute you are here....& the next minute you are gone....

I don't know how my wife is going to get through hosting a superbowl party today because she didn't sleep last night & is very shaken up over Gina's death....& this may be the very first time since the inception of the superbowl where I didn't make a bet of any kind....just not in the mood....

Enjoy your day & cherish the people around you....

so sorry to hear this AR, I lost my dog a few months ago. was holding her in my arms when the vet put her down. can't even start to explain how hard that was for me to do but I wouldn't have had it any other way. she was a huge part of my life. I know it won't be long before I get another one. again, sorry for your loss...

I'm sorry for the both of you. It does hurt and she will be missed. I have been there before also.
Perhaps a new little puppy will help when you guys are ready.

On the course!
13 years is a pretty good run. That's the bad thing about dogs. You will go through this a few times if you have them around you your whole life.

Get through the toughness of this time, and then enjoy the memories!

Sorry for both of you, Al.

Really sorry. Gave my Indy an extra hug today. Can't imagine her being gone like that. Make the best of your day.
