When I was a young teen, my mother gave me money to run an errand and told me to come straight home.
I took the money and went straight to the pool hall.
Hours later, I was shooting nine ball on the front table when all of a sudden,
a big, angry cop (friend of my parents) burst into the pool hall,
grabbed me by the back of my shirt
shoved me face down on the pool table, handcuffed me,
marched me out of the pool hall in front of all my friends,
and threw me face down in the back seat of a waiting squad car.
When he knocked on our front door and delivered me to my parents, he said,
"If you ever need my help again, just call."
I learned my lesson.

AND IF THAT HAPPENED today, you'll get rewarded with a LAWSUIT win from the city.

Where it is real F ing COLD
When I was 15/16- I wouldn't have even thought of throwing a party or even inviting friends over to watch tv. I would tend to think that my kids would have the same notion. Someone posted a thing on facebook yesterday about spanking. I got spanked and I wasn't afraid to spank my kids. I think my kids are turning out to be very responsible (even though they are only 9 and 12) young people with good intentions. Sounds like these parents don't have that with their kids.

Not even over for TV? Were you thinking of becoming a nun?

Thank you everyone for the responses. I am glad to hear there is some sanity left in the country. I just wish there was more of it. Cops should only be used for emergencies and helping out when you are stranded in a bad situation. The scope of bullshit that they are forced to deal with and force themselves into is truly sad. Using them as family referees is a real abuse of the system. If those parents wanted to teach their kids about responsibility, they should have started by showing them that they cared about their well-being not to leave them home alone for an entire weekend. At least have a friend or neighbor pop over to check on them. Sheesh!

it was the parents fault in the beginning, the cops should have arrested them for leaving their teenagers home alone for the weekend.

NOOOOOO- when my parents said "no friends over when we aren't home" I knew it meant Don't you even dare-not even to watch tv. I lived a very sheltered life. Hence one of the reasons I never left this COUNTY. I wanted to go into the Coast Guard but was so shy I barely made it through business school in the next big city over from us. I mean jeez I had to drive on the highway to get there for pete's sake! I cried the first day of college because my exit was closed and I had no idea how else to navigate the roads to get to the school. So I sat in a parking lot for a half an hour and just watched certain cars and where they got off the highway and where they would end up and I finally figured out a way to get to where I needed to be. I have finally broken through all that and do well except sometimes in certain "new" situations I get REALLY nervous.
