Rumors are 75k traveling with about half hoping to find tickets. Based on what i have seen on ebay, etc, I think it is quite possible Texas will slighly outnumber USC. Texas folks are prepared to shell out the coin to get in.

Rose Bowl is stuck with Citibank and also being title game giving a ton of tix to ABC and the sponsors. Most of those are scalped, and texas fans are trying to buy in droves. End zone seats are still at about $1k.

BOTTOM LINE:

Sun Tzu said OSU fans were buying Fiesta Bowl tickets at a 2-1 rate over ND fans. I said that WAS NOT TRUE, and asked him to prove it. He could not. He has offered as evidence, a link to an article that he CLEARLY misread, and does not support the statistic.

The statistic is false, and I am not calling you a liar, Sun. Its more of a 'reading comprehension" problem.

Like I said in my first post to you Sun, that stat is NOT true.

No way Texas is going to outnumber SC. You should see the stars jumpin on the SC bandwagon, everyone in LA has been an SC fan for life now SunTzu. I think everyone that fell off the lakers bandwagon got picked up by the SC bandwagon.

Yiou think it means Texas and USC have equal fan bases in California? You think that is what that means?

The article says that THERE ARE MORE OSU FANS IN OHIO THAN ND FANS IN INDIANA!!!

It does NOT SAY OSU is selling tickets at a 2-1 rate. :) PERIOD! You are W-R-O-N-G.

I have read your "proof". It is off topic and inconclusive.

The only way to even know how many tickets were sold to each school would be through a survey or an ESTIMATE, each of which would also be inconclusive, but better than the pisspoor article you have produced.

There are probably people goin to the game who probably dont even give a hoot about EITHER TEAM!!!

Most people attack Nd's on the field credentials. Sun, by attacking their tradition and "off the field" credentials, including their ability to draw a large crowd, you have embarassed yourself. I'm sorry that I had to be the one to do it.

Next time, make sure something is true before you go shooting off about it. you will be more credible that way.

If someone threw a FALSE statistic in your face, and you knew it wasnt true, you would get to the bottom of it too. This board is for sharing information and discussion. If something is UNTRUE, then it is to be debated and the truth sought.

For this interpretation to be right, it would also mean there are 22 times as many Texas Tech fans in Texas as Bama fans in Bama -you believe that?

Or we could try your first interpretation - you think there are twice as many Penn State fans in Florida as Florida State fans?

ND had great gameplan but remember ND had to convert high # of 3rd downs. USC D executed their gameplan except ND did one step better in making those 3rd down conversions. TOUGH TO DO and ND did it. Texas isn't capable of that type of offense and gameplan Weis used. Texas is quick strike offense.

Getting back to the topic here, I agree. Thats why I dont give Texas that good a chance in this game. Quick strike offenses have all met their demise against USC. They can not be "outscored". It is easier to beat a team by taking their "playmakers" out of the game, than it is to beat a team with a good scheme. ND's offense isnt based as much on personnel as it is on scheme. Much of Texas success is the speed and talent of the ATHLETES, which can be compensated for and stopped with the right scheme.

Personally, I dont care WHAT THE HECK IT SAYS!!
Thats the first time I ever heard of a home state fan base ratio. I dont care what it means. It doesnt mean OSU fans are buying tickets at a 2-1 rate. That is all that matters for our purposes. I'm not here to interpret articles you produce, I just demonstrated that it does not support your statistic.

You introduced the article as evidence that OSU fans are buying 66% of the fiesta bowl tickets.

The article does not say that. You are wrong!

Lmao. Amazing the crap you guys can make up. Texas is a quick strike offense - what does that mean? They just dont get stopped and have to march 12 plays to score. And USC isnt a quick strike offense? Should they just give up 1st and 2nd down rather than march down the field.

And lest we get facts in the way, Texas is 3rd in the country on third-down conversions. Pretty good considering they are so incapable.

Interestingly, Texas is 5th in 3rd down defense.

USC is 54. Apparently you dont have to be Charlie Weis to succeed on 3rd down v USC.

Maybe it means 22-1 Texas residents over Alabama residents. THAT I WOULD BELIEVE. Those are the home states of the fans attending the game. Comparing the number of Ohio residents to Indiana residents in attendance is irrelevant.

both schools have huge national backing.

There are 5 million people in Alabama.

So you would believe there are 110 million people in Texas?

That actually could be. A large percentage of Florida residents are SEASONAL older folks who come from up north for the nice winter weather. Penn State is one of the most popular programs in the mid atlantic, AND the east coast in general. Wouldnt surprise me if penn state fans outnumbered fsu fans in florida.

Using that interpretation, I WOULD believe that there are 22 times more TTU fans in Texas than Bama fans. Makes sense to me.

No but I believe there are more Texas Tech fans in the game's home state (TEXAS!) than bama fans. There are 22.8 million people in Texas to correct your HUGE overestimate :mj07:
