I think LSU would be a long shot to make the SEC title game even if they beat Bama because Auburn would have to lose twice (since they have the head to head advantage with LSU). So I guess if Alabama runs the table they would represent the West and probably get another shot at S Carolina, a big if tho since they would have to beat both LSU & Auburn, but I'm sure they are glad just to have a shot. I guess the Iron Bowl is the key. Oregon is darn good no doubt, but I would need to see them on the road/neutral site against another really good team (USC just doesn't play good enough D).

What would be bad for the conference is for an 2 or 3 loss SEC East team to win the title game.

I don't think anyone thought Ole Miss was "good enough", they lost to Jacksonville St. and Vanderbilt for Christ's sake. People got caught up with the let down factor of the game.

Have you been on Mars when all anyone ever says is that they have a retarded coach and they have been lucky to win some of their games. I have never heard, horrible and LSU, in the same sentence. Also, Auburn is going to dismantle anyone's defense. It is what Gus Malzahn has been doing since he started coaching in college, Tulsa, Arkansas, etc. Hell, he did it last year at Auburn (33 pts per game) against the same SEC teams that are so ballyhooed for their defense. This is just the first high powered offensive scheme that the SEC has seen. I have a feeling that the usual 3 yards and a cloud of dust will go away in the SEC in a couple of years.

I think I like Auburn over Oregon but I hope you guys are not saying that Auburn has a great defense? Plus the SEC team's offenses seem to be pretty lame except for Aub, Arkie, and Bama..

Is there any reason to suggest that Auburn would be able to stop Oregon's offense??

Remember one thing about Auburn vs. Arkie.. Auburn was damn lucky that they got the breaks on 2 fumbles that resulted in 2 tds for them that could of easily went the other way after replay.

But saying that I hope Auburn runs the table and wins it all. Just don't underestimate Oregon because of who they have played because they are giving teams like Stanford and USC a whiippin..

JHawk, Cie and myself had a discussion about how idiotic and lucky Les Miles is a few weeks ago. You missed the entire purpose of my post I guess. Since I've nothing better to do, I'll re-word:

Before the Auburn-LSU game: Lsu was the best defense in the SEC. Head and shoulders more talented than any other defense Auburn has or will see this year. Since giving up 500+ yards to Auburn in that game, every person I've seen give an opinion about LSU's defense is claiming - It's not that Auburn's offense is unstoppable, LSU isn't as talented on defense as we thought they were.


As for Ole Miss, you must have been on Mars last week. I don't know how many times a person that claims to be a level-headed, intelligent football fan said Ole miss could easily beat yall, masoli playing better, etc etc etc.

A LOT of people said it. And people all over websites similar to this one were claiming "OLE MISS +7 LOCK OF THE WEEK"

Not sure if anyone listened to Cowherd today but he had a guy on from Vegas and the guy said that Oregon would be a 3-4 point fav over Auburn and also a 3-4 point fav over Boise State. But, he did say that the Boise line would be based on public opinion and that the wise guys would hammer Boise as a dog vs anyone in the NC game.

He said when they do their calculations on every team and adjust the teams numbers based on strength of schedule that Boise comes out way ahead.

Just thought I would add a little of what was said in case you didn't hear.

definitely want The Ducks playing an SEC team in the Championship and not a Boise or a TCU beacause that would prove nothing. We want a chance to Shut up all those that think there fair weather conference is the best. Auburn might hang with Oregon until the fourth qtr where they have only given up 7pts all year and have scored a TON. Unless Auburn has tons of depth at every position on D they will totally be Gassed by the end and Oregon will pull away. I say 48-31 GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the SEC

vegas has odds to win NC in favor of oregon at +140. Bama coming in second at +250.

looks like vegas still likes bama to plow through LSwho and set up a nice road block for cam Nov 26.

Back to the matter at hand, Oregon looks good, but I am not buying in. Of course, the same thing happened to me last year with Bama, and I can assure you it costs me a bunch of units:facepalm:

The Ducks might be the most interesting and exciting team to watch in all of college football.

Their coach is incredibly innovative and has adapted the zone read offense to fit the talent he has. No one would argue that Oregon has the best talent in Division one, but they're capable scoring 40-50 points on any team.

Their defense is not always stellar, but 50 offensive points will hide a multitude of defensive flaws.

They will win run the table, win the Civil War by three TDs and take the National Championship.
