I've been trying to contact him for the last 6 or 8 weeks because I haven't heard anything from him for awhile, he didn't answer my emails or return my text messages.

I received this email yesterday when I was at the Venetian sportsbook.

Hi - this is Kevin's wife. I am very sorry to let you know that Kevin was killed in an accident in October while on vacation.

I am still trying to sort through everything and came across your email. Very sorry to have to let you know this way.

We miss him terribly.

A Texas man died Oct. 3 following a dirt bike accident on Forest Service Road 648 (West Fork Road).
According to the Colorado State Patrol incident blotter, the incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.
According to the report, Kevin R. Caunt, 51, of Georgetown, Texas, was riding his dirt bike northbound on West Fork Road when he and the bike fell to the left side.
Caunt was ejected from the bike and landed a few feet away on his head and shoulder, the report indicates.
The driver was not wearing a helmet, said CSP spokesman Doug Wiersma.
Caunt was taken to Pagosa Springs Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

I was sitting next to Jack when he got this email. Definitely had an effect in him. I wasn't lucky enough to meet Kevin but Jack has told me in several occasions just what a great guy he was. He always had a smile on his face.

We've lost a great member too soon.

Incredibly bad news Jack. Very painful to lose a friend at such a young age. I know the feeling well. I never had the pleasure of conversing with krc, but he was obviously one of the good ones. Sorry for your loss.

I spent a lot of time with Kevin last year during Super Bowl weekend. He's one of the nicest, happiest people i have ever met. Jack and I were just talking about how cool he was before learning about what happened. Very sad. I am going to miss him.

If you live like you're rich, you'll end up poor. If you live like you're poor you will become rich.

WTF!!?!????!? This really sucks. I was lucky enough to hang out with Kevin and Susan, as well as Josh and Autumn last year in Georgetown. They were a truly nice couple and he was a great person. We had a great time and were able to hang out for a long afternoon. I am just now hearing about this and it breaks my heart. A truly nicer guy you could never have met. This is just horrible. I am very sad to hear this.

RIP Kevin...................

Like FDC said.

The one thing I can tell y'all is Kevin had his priorities straight. He was madly in love with his wife, Susan. He said to me, "Who gets to marry a smoking hot tall blonde... Oh yeah, this guy."

We also met at a place where his daughter had bartended and talked about how proud of her he was.

He loved his Big Green Egg and sharing cooking ideas and recipes with Mad Jack

This is going to be a long sad day

Kevin was one of the few Madjackers I've had the chance to meet, doing so at my lone Super Bowl weekend in Vegas last year. Furthermore, he was one of the fewer that I had a chance to speak with 1on1 a couple times. He made the biggest impression of all the people I met last year, just because of his unbridled exuberance.

We had a fun mini-run at the craps table (along with Betone and others), but what most struck me was the fact that without even trying he made me feel so welcome; just one of the guys, amongst a group of people that had met numerous times before.

This stings and I barely knew him, I can only imagine how much family and closer friends are dealing.
RIP
