I missed his press conference where he apologized. I'm sure he explained that when he said those remarks, it was just his online persona that was trying to be entertaining.

Free speech or not I'm gonna have to go with fired on this one... per the article in USA Today it's akin to saying you love Hitler to a bunch of Jews. That's how much Castro is hated by the Cubans in Miami. He can't fix that shit...

Sure, we all have free speech in this country, but sometimes with that freedom of speech, there are consequences when it comes to your employer, which Ozzy is realizing. :0074

Just when I was going to group you with the batshit crazy group of Ray, Skull, and Hedgy, you totally redeem yourself.

Ozzie has a right to voice his opinion, however the Marlins have a right to be represented how they want.

So you are against free speech in this scenario?

Do you ever go a hour without contradicting yourself?

I was wondering what the board thought

I like Ozzie Guillen  not so much anymore after those comments:scared

Just to be clear, free speech is a government issue only. Meaning that specifically Congress can not imprison you or forcefully prevent you from speaking your mind against government policies, opiniones, etc. This does not necessarily apply to private individuals unless there is some specific law broken during the exercise of free speech and should be handled accordingly by civil court or other courts pertinent to the alleged infraction. OR somebody could get pissed off and punch you in the face, in which case it should be a case of battery or misconduct, or something along those lines. Against the offender, of course.

I'd hope they keep Ozzie. Hell, let everybody see the idiot that he is. Then fans can decide if they want to go to the games or not. If not, he'll probably be fired for that... money issues, bad for business, etc. With all the flak the Marlins are taking for the government built stadium along with dwindling attendance for years on end, the last thing the team needs is this guy making things worse.
Ozzie has been a loudmouth idiot since way before he played with the Chisox. I used to watch him playing winter ball, and he would never shut up. He wasn't even the best shortstop on the team at the time and still ran his mouth incessantly. Nothing new here with this guy.

 :popcorn2

If coaching does not work out for him, I am sure he could find an acting job. That was an academy award performance today..... Maybe in a new soap named douche bags of our lives........:0074

Reminds of the P.J. O'Rourke quote

There?s only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences :0008
