I hope things get better for you back pain sufferers. I get a little bit of lower back pain if I am on my feet for too long but it immediately subsides when I take a seat.

BTW, there is another type of pain clinic going on today starting at 630pm eastern. :0003

Instant pain relief with the lumbar Medial Branch Blocks. If u haven't had those, Penguinfan, they are like magic. Not much relief at all with the cervical epidural.

Thanks for asking.

I'm not sure which I tried before I want with the surgery. I had the ones where they shoot the cortisone into the bulging disk. Didn't work at all and hurt like hell to have it done.

U just had the epidural it sounds like. If your typical back pain radiates to the side at all (mine is always in the lower right back), the MBB's will probably help. Instead of putting the medication in the epidural space to distribute throughout that space up and down your spine, the MBB'S delivers the medication to the specific area where the pain is. They are also very helpful if u have any associated leg pain. Read more here

That's just the first article I came across on a search. There are many more. Maybe they would work for u?

The pain I have radiates to the side and I defiantly have sciatica (leg pain) but believe it or not that pain is pretty manageable. What gets me is if I put too much strain on my back (lifting too much or shoveling snow, etc...) it will just be unbearable.

If you've had back pain to the point you simply CAN'T stand up (and it sounds like you have) then you know what I'm talking about. A lot of people have back pain, but unless you've experienced this you just can't understand it. I always thought no matter how bad it hurt I would just power through it and move on. You simply can't, your body won't let you move, it's frustrating as hell.

It looks like I have to see my doctor soon about it because it's not getting better so I will mention the MBB's you brought up, thanks.

I'd really like to work till I'm 55 so I qualify for the full pension at my work but I'm getting worried I might not make it that long.
