HOUMA, La. ? A 6-foot-3, 265-pound man says a restaurant overcharged him for his trips to the buffet line, then banned him and a relative because they're hearty eaters.

A spokesman for the restaurant denies the claim.

Ricky Labit, a disabled offshore worker, said he had been a regular for eight months at the Manchuria Restaurant in Houma, eating there as often as three times a week.

On his most recent visit, he said, a waitress gave him and his wife's cousin, 44-year-old Michael Borrelli, a bill for $46.40, roughly double the buffet price for two adults.

"She says, 'Y'all fat, and y'all eat too much,"' Labit said. :142smilie

Labit and Borrelli said they felt discriminated against because of their size. "I was stunned, that somebody would say something like that. I ain't that fat, I only weigh 277," Borrelli said, adding that a waitress told him he looked like he had a "baby in the belly."

Houma accountant Thomas Campo said the men were charged an extra $10 each on Dec. 21 because they made a habit of dining exclusively on the more expensive seafood dishes, including crab legs and frog legs.

"We have a lot of big people there," said Campo, who spoke for owner Li Shang, whose English is limited. "We don't discriminate."

Labit denied ever being told he would be asked to pay more than the standard adult price.

The argument grew heated, and police were called. :scared

The police report states, "The incident was settled when the management advised that the bill was a mistake and, to appease Ricky, the meal was complimentary."

Labit said he insisted on paying but was told not to come back. He complained that when seafood on the buffet line runs out, the restaurant only grudgingly cooks more.

Campo said the proprietress tries to reduce waste of quality food, he said.

"Food is for eating, not toys for your child," reads a sign posted on a wall in typewritten text. A handwritten addition reads "Or 20% added."

i knew 2 guys when i lived in the baltimore area, that were banned all over the city for killing the all-you-can-eat deals. they were proud of it.

everytime, they would get the meal for free and were asked to never come back again. :mj07:

any time they heard of a new place that had AYCE the went and destroyed the food :D

no more pizza deals or chinese or steamed crabs, buffets, nothing! banned all over the city :mj07:

true story

I was in a chinese restaurant all you can eat place one night.

When I got there this huge guy was sitting in a booth across from me with about ten empty plates in front of him, and he still looked hungry.

So after I watched him awhile this Chinese owner comes out and in a chinese accent says this very loudly.

You been here two hours...
You go Home !!!!!

I was just thinking about this .

I think the differance between large people and smaller people who go into all you can eats, are that larger people are willing to sit there and get a second wind.

Once I get full, I am not interested in waiting a hour to go again at the buffet full steam.

I will try to find one thing that I really like on the buffet and eat it until there is none left.

Its amazing but many times there can be a huge buffet but the quality of food is not that good or it does not taste that good. So I focus on the one thing that does taste good after I try alot of stuff on my first plate.

I have to say TPaine was a good looking kid. He had on some hip shorts (for December in Chicago).

Any girl (or Cubs fan) would be crazy not to jump his bones seeing those fine legs on Fullerton Ave at that hour.

I'm sure I looked like a serial killer that night tapping on his window out of the blue like that.:mj07: coming out of a 25 year old truck with a dark Carhartt hoody on.
