I think I already know the story. ...Boy meets girl, boy lies to girl, girl believes boy, girl's friends warn girl about boy, girl doesn't listen to them, girl convinces herself that boy is the right guy, girl's friends and family continue to warn girl about boy, girl can't admit she's been duped by a golfing insurance agent, girl numbs pain with alcohol, girl has baby hoping that will fix boy, baby fixes boy for a few years, boy begins to live out his dreams through baby, baby is a 3 year old golfing phenom, baby on fast track to wealth, boy and girl pat each other on backs, baby rebels, girl prays for baby, girl seeks advice from Buddy, boy starts spending more time at bars and thumbing through high school yearbook, boy tells Kosar boy is confused, Kosar can't remember who boy was for a few minutes but eventually does and says he doesn't know what to say but wishes best luck to boy, boy buys motorcycle and learns to ride, boy gets in crash on highway, girl breaks down at hospital, baby comes home, baby done running wild, baby forgives boy for being overbearing, baby and girl pray for health of boy, boy gets better, baby ends up well adjusted and follows boy's steps into insurance business, boy and girl live happily ever after, baby meets spouse named Sponge Jr on sports forum.

I was driving through the middle of Kansas today scanning through radio stations. There's not much going on in Kansas, even on the airwaves.
Finally I came across a station and heard the sweet voice of Paul Harvey. Man was I ready for "the rest of the story". But alas, it was just a Christian preacher who I am convinced they hired merely because his voice sounds so much like Paul Harveys. I really wasn't in the mood to hear about eternal damnation. I mean, I was already in Kansas, sheeshe! I was pretty pissed to say the least.

Was it western Kansas on I-70? If so, I've no doubt it was a great journey. Just dead there... reminds me of my drive from Wisconsin to Phoenix last August on I-40. Once we got past Oklahoma City, it is just a whole lot of nothing. I absoultely love the western part of this country, but man, the rural areas in the western part of the Plains sure is bland.
Of course, then there was the rest of the trip across New Mexico and northeast Arizona prior to Flagstaff, which is not only bland but just plain old ugly.
My apologies. I actually think that was the 2-hour stretch or so where I had my Mom take my car and I rode in the Uhaul with my stepdad so I could do some reading for class. So that little stretch is exempt from my comment, and Gallup remains fully respected.
