Just saw where Merriweather died in February of this year

Makes that piece a little tougher to watch. Awesome on Penny for doing what he did as he always seemed like a good guy

Penny was the real deal. IMO he would have gone down as one of the greatest ever if he wouldn't have gotten injured. He had one of the most complete offensive games I've ever seen for someone so young. I still think it really hurt the NBA that both he and Grant Hill had injuries that kept them from being what they could have been. If those two stay healthy and kept growing the NBA would have really used the Jordan era and gone even higher but because those two got hurt it really killed the ratings.

My youngest daugther at 10 years old loved Penny Hardaway. She had the doll the nike shoes and was in love lol. The wife and I purchased some primo seats to a Magic game in Orlando and she was star struck. Funny thing is Dick vitale sat about 5 rows in front of us and people were coming up to him the whole game saying hello and shaking his hand. That would suck. The good ole days.
