Americans are the ones that can't speak any language but their own and not even that very well....they make no atempt to speak the native tongue of the country they are visiting not even hello and good by.. Contrast that to the rest of the world where almost every one speaks English and it's required to get out of school...
If you see some older white guy walking around in shorts and a ravens jersey good chance it could be a american.

English is the universal language of world business. That is why English is taught in foreign countries.
I know this is where you come back with what a savvy world traveler you are, but again.....you are full of shit. "Most people" in other countries do NOT speak English. Simply for the fact that they don't need to.
Movies and media give you the perception that "everyone" speaks English.
For fuck's sake, look at the millions of Mexicans in this country who don't speak 5 words of it! Why on Earth would people who never NEED to speak it, know it? Just as a matter of course? That's incredibly naive.
