i think he'll be a good qb...not a great qb based on me watching him play.

i'll turn it around why do some people think he'll be a great qb ?

because he qb a winning superbowl team ?....i think he had the lowest rating of any qb in superbowl history.

What do you think makes a great QB? Stats mean nothing in my book. Having a solid team around you helps alot, just ask Brady. Do you think he would have multiple rings without his offensive line? Roethlisberger is not asked to win games nor does he have to, but many many times he has come thru in the clutch in his short 3 year career. I can't see the future for Ben, exspecially with a new head coach and offensive coordinator next year, so I'll pass on predicting if he will end up as a "great" QB. The potential is definately there...

So, Manning sux cuz he can't get to the Super Bowl, and Ben sux cuz they WON the Super Bowl without any help from him ??

It can't be both ways !! So is the SUPER BOWL the end all/ be all or not ???????? :142smilie

winning the Super Bowl is not everything...but in order to be considered a great QB...you must win 1 imo...Ben won one, but imo he is not a great QB, he might become one...cuz he is still very young but not right now...

why cant it be both ways?each situation is diffrent.if you cant tell the diffrence,we cant help you..doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that trent dilfer is not better than dan marino..peyton and that all pro offence are the colts.he will win it or lose for them.the team is built around him. you cant tell the steelers were built a diffrent way?the steelers didnt need a qb to win a game for them, they needed one not to lose the game..manning still needs to win this game for his rep i think.hes known as the guy who cant win the big game.hell get his chance in 2 weeks..if he losses to this bear team, there is nothing special about him, except that he puts up great #s on a high powerd offence..hall of famer ?yes..all time great ?not yet.imo

i dont think brady has great offence around him.atleast compared to other great teams, thats why hes a great qb imo...manning will not be the same qb without his all world supporting cast..reece caldwell, and troy brown? i want to see these guys put up harrisons #s.i dont think they can even if you ran the run &shoot...manning has a just as good supporting cast as brady,if not better.,manning is your qb prototype, but thats what great about the position,BRAINS!! theres alot of intangibles involved playing qb,and brady has them.

I don't want to hear any excuses for this loser of a QB...don't even want his name mentioned as 1 of the best ever until he wins a SB...this guy never shows up for the big game! I thought this was the year they whip NE as s .....guess not!

Are you listening ???? :mj07: :00hour :scared

Before this game, I thought Manning was top 10 player of all time.

I don't think he did anything special this game. All he did was add something crucial to his resume.

People love champions.

To be honest, he proved everything to me 2 weeks ago against Pats. Not to mention, his whole career has been really good. Even if he doesn't win last week, I think he is a great player.

But there's something about having a title to talk about a legacy.

I'm glad Manning got that title to add to that legacy, but to me, Manning is still the great player that he was 2 months ago.

Nothing impressive tonight, individually, but his team won the big game. Congrats and I hope they repeat next year. Other than that, I think Manning is a rare, great player.
