Good Morning, Waysing Fans. Right off the bat, I gotta mention something - I stopped in here on Wed. and noticed that jtc and Taxman were in here for a good while. Maybe they were just seeing if anybody was posting anything? But, I should let them know that they won't find anything from me cause I ONLY play Philly. I'm just too lazy to spend another 15-20 yrs. to figure out another wace twack. I may stray from Philly if there's a circus/show in town ... ya know, like the Breeders Cup or something like that. Got those bastages last year, but usually those are good days for me to clean OUT a good chunk of my bankroll.:s5:
I just stopped in here on Weds. to listen to the music. REALLY.
Today
In fact, I was was thinking of taking today off. But, all them playable races are just too hard to resist. So here goes....
Race 1
Normally, a race with a field of 7, a favorite that I am not familiar with, more than one early speedster, and owners that I never heard of ... .. is an UNplayable wace. Ba, bah, but.. I did like the way that there "Tahiti" hoss looked the other day AND, if nothing else, she could run the fav. (no. 7) into the ground in this race. The other likely thang to happen in this race is that the favorite may not even get close to Tahiti. Since the first possibility sets things up nicely for the no. 5 hoss, FIRST LOVE. I'm thinking there just may be a play here. Oh, one mo thing - when I first looked over this race, it looked like one of them medocre twenty something dollar zactas. Chasing them kinda zactas can get ya to the po house. IF THERE'S A PLAY HERE, it's probably ... . .
Zactas - no. 3 top/bot. with 2,5,7 AND a straight play on that no. 5 hoss (5-1). prob. just to win. Maybe also Place and/or Show if she looks pretty good in the prerace. Like most of the times - that straight bet needs to be big enough to ensure a profit if the zactas fail. Obviously, what I'll be looking for is to hit both bets. Yum, yum.
BTW, thank you again, Hamster for suggesting that wheeling BOTH picks in "two picks, only" races. I didn't check my records yet, but I do believe you may be on to something. It worked for Taxman the other day. Right now, I'm of the opinion that it could be the thing to do, but maybe ONLY in races that you believe will yield one of them nice, big, FAT, Philly style zotics. This race ain't one of them kinda race I don't think, so I won't be doing 2 sets of exactas for this race.
Imagine if one of us did that with that "two-pick" race I wrote about that ran last week? A two stinkin dollar exacta ticket returns $1438+ OR even a one stinkin dollar ticket woulda returned $719 ? Oh yeah, that woulda warranted a CELEBRATION alright.
Race 3
No. 1 gets my top figure in this race. Zactas 1 top/bot with 2,4,6,7,9. Doubling up on the exacta that involve the no.4 and the no. 9. ALSO - IF any of these scratch, substituting the no. 3 hoss in it's place. .... .. AND the side bet IS the no. 3 either to just WIN or Win/Place... . nuthin on Show.
Something I should mention concerns no. 8, the favorite. IF that last race is a fluke, he should be right there. Problem is that these old timers (9 yr. old with 75 starts) are very iffy when they suddenly fade badly in their previous race ESP. when their former races were just terrific. Yeah, that last race was for a new outfit, he's dropping in company today, and maybe he just needed to get adjusted to his new residence. At 5/2, he can adjust without me backing him. Too iffy.
Race 5
Zactas 1,4,7,10 top/bot w.2,11. No. 11 is an also eligible so IF she doesn't draw in, then substituting the no. 10 hoss. THAT MEANS exactas become - 1,4,7 top/bot w. 2,10. Also, side order -> no. 10 (8-1 M.L.) to Win/Place @2x. (that means whatever I put to win on it, double that amount to Place)
Race 6
Zactas.... . 3,12 top/bot w. 7,8. Now, there is a side in this race and it seem a bit strange. You remember the ad... "Don't leave home without it"? You know, for American Express. You play at OTB? Well, don't leave your local OTB establishment without a ticket on the no. 4 hoss in this race. NOT a big ticket cause, the odds this one will prob. go off at doesn't warrant a big ticket. The name of the game is "Put down a little" and "Take home a LOT". Get it?
This is where I'm up to right now. Hopefully I get home in time to play/post a later race or two.
