BTW, that was the original name of this track; I don't know who came up with parx

This twack will look for any excuse to cancel their racing card.

How cum?
- cause nobody goes their just like here that's why. Now they got a casino that has it's doors wide open all the time (?).

Just a little backgroud

Before most of yous were born, I was at the BIG A and Belmont Park betting on championship caliber race horses, losing money and absolutely LUVEN every second of it. These days I will visit the race track from time to time and :s1: or better most of the time and ENJOYING most of it including betting from home via the "cloud" sometimes, like today.

Going back to the NY topic - the way to bet those 2 twacks is/was to:
- find the right races to play. Definitely NOT any with an odds-on fav.
- focus on the top 3 favorites and bet the one you are confident with the most with Win/Place/Show x3

For Philly wacin it's just the opposite way to bet with exception to the "find right race" part.

Nuff of that for now.

Not too excited about today's card with big fields of maiden hosses. Gotta check out the late races.

1st race is iffy - no. 9 hoss MIGHT be the key to "Big Balloons"

Small bets on EXactas-> No. 9 top/bottom with nos. 1,2,8

EDITED: SHEESH, I'm typing away and the 1st race is running. I usually don't play the 1st race. Anyway no, 9 didn't come in . SO on to the 5th.

I gotta do an errand at 3 pm and hope to get back home around 4 pm.

For now, there is one more playable race:
5th race plenty of small bets with good payout potential -

exactas - no.2,6 top/bot 1,3,7,8 if the 2 and 8 look good on the track - a side WIN bet on each is also an idea here

Hope to be back here later.

Thanks for chiming in here....

Parx or whateverthefukinA they call it is similar to Oaklawn in Hot Springs which is my stomping ground. Similar only in that there is now a casino. OP was a monster back in the day, and it has in my opinion resurfaced as one of the top 3 tracks in the nation with it's purses and trainer draws now. I am sure some will argue, but you sure as hell don't see those 6-8 horse fields at OP like you do now at A and Belmont etc etc....kinda sad. They are almost done with a 400 room hotel at OP which will draw even more now. Watch for it to dominate the good horses in the Spring. Best of luck to all playing the horsies.

Good to see an older track doing well

Good to see an older track doing well

If they are spending the loot to build the 400 roomer that should mean that they are optimistic about the future for OP and whatever else may be in that area. I think California is drawing crowds based on when I watch a race or two out there. It's strange to figure out what is going wrong with the East coast tracks... just dwindling away.

Let's see....

I got back home about an hour ago; races were over. I put in the 5th race EXACTAs only before I left. I just watched the the 5th race replay to see the no. 2 hoss looking like a weiner in DEEP stretch then drops the anchors about 30 yds. from the finish line. Didn't even matter if that 2 hoss woulda got 2nd cause the 9 won and paid $27.80. They finished 9-1-8. zacta paid $94; 50 cent tri. paid $112.30.

Hmm.... check the plicks for the 1st race today. Think maybe I got the races mixed up?

Yeah, right.
