Well, good idea but poor execution. Whenever you see a horse that looks like that no. 2 YOU PLAY IT!
At this track, putting it with longshots (ESP. in short fields) is USUALLY the way to go. There are other options like W/PL/Show@5x, or dutch all the exactas (that one is a little complicated), or just win/place@3x, etc. But the first way to do it (above) turned out to be the worst choice THIS TIME.
No. 2 ran an excellent race and that is the important thing. Horse was pressed almost all the way and just couldn't hold off the no. 6 who was the big favorite. OF COURSE, the zacta was a 6-2 (Son a ma...).
If I see the same situation again - I'll probably bet them exactly the same way though.

Both ran just fine .. . for HALF OF THE DANG WACE !
Race was actually a "No Play" but I had 4,5, and 11 marked anyway. The 4 and 5 looked pretty decent in the paddock, so a few bucks on each while I was able to watchem was worth the shot.
Tomorrow should start them LUCKY DAYS and I could use some of that after the Triple Crowners crew. Give me a holler if ya need some picks; they should come in handy when you're trying to find some horses to ELIMINATE from your betting. I'll watch, and prob. play, the Belmont but my focus will be with my good ole Philly dirt bombs.
So far my first step for the Belmont is to throw out every hoss that ran 3rd to last in the Preakness. May not help much since I think very few, it any, will go in the Belmont. Creative Cause was given every chance to prove himself at Pimlico and just couldn't make it. I think there is such a thing as form cycles and his is not CURRENTLY up to the two top candidates (Bode' and 'Another). The tough, grueling Belmont torture test makes that count even more.
Don't forget to bring the wheelbarrow with ya on Tuesday, Hammy. LOL.

Hah, I applied for a job with Hutton when I first got to Florida... . I found one with another brokerage house down here. I gave up touting stocks and now I tout hosses for free. Do better with them too.
Yeah, they're either looking for some music or stories. We know better than that and look for some winners. LOL.
