OK, you'll all come loaded for BEAR?
:bigun:

Ah, let's put down the machine gun and get out the BB gun to start...

Was gonna start with the early races, but the early races turned out to be the late races. Here's what I mean -

Race 5
zactas - 3,6 top/bot w. 4,5,9

Race 6
Like yesterday's, Next Exit, hoss (UGH) there's a hoss in this race that I liked pretty much the last time I saw it. Unlike N.E., this one did get to run the day I liked it, finished 4th. Looked good enough to follow up on.

Unfortunately, I ain't familiar with the fav. (no. 7) in this race and that ain't good. The PPs tells me that he CAN DO. Got it figured as a two horse race, nos. 4, Justiceandfortitude (8-1) and the fav., no. 7.

I'll leave yas with those two top picks. Exacta players gotta cough up some coin cause there's at least 5 others that could fill the exacta. Here thems are: 2,3,5,6,10. I may be unloading a bit on this race so all I'll write here is that everyone one of my plays will include the 4 and/or the 7. Payoffs on zotics (tri, zacks) should be solid even if the fav. gets in the picture.

Race 7
Thought I'd find something in this playable race and spent quite a bit of time on it. Finally, I gave up on this contest.

Race 8
Got it down to two hosses... nos. 5 and 9. BOTH have decent morning lines. Nice betting race.

Let's declare Tue$ as a holiday

Let's declare Tue$ as a holiday

WOW, this joint is jumping

crowds3-300x199.jpg

Hmm, had the zacta on the wrong side of the "equation". NO EXCUSES though, The no. 3 (especially) and the no. 6 were the KEYS. Surprised the 3 coughed it up. :mj02:

Hopefully, better races ahead. there's a surprise package on this conveyor belt and if history repeats itself, WE'RE GONNA SNAG IT. :0071

HM, my bestest sport is tennis; absolutely no interest around here on that subject (well, worthwhile interest that is). Really took it on the chin the other night with Rafa (+140) letting that match slip through his fingers. Tough, tough lose ESP. for him after the amazing efforts he made with the TWO come-from-dead moves he made during that match.

S.B. got me stumped asfaras a straight bet goes. Had a LOT of luck with props (you know, "sucker bets") this football season. Gonna look for one of them.

Keep on truckin.

well, nailed that zacta in the 6th; but I went for the jugular all the way around.. zacks AND W/PL on that no. 4 hoss. If I didn't go a little overboard ($40 worth.) on that no. 4 it woulda been more profitable for me. Good thing I didn't indicate how much I liked that 4 in the post. Good thing the fav. did get the BOTTOM of that zacta.

OLD Bud is ready for retirement (McDonald or glue factory).

This was the kinda main course you're looking for at this twack, MJers. A solid pick (like "the TRAIN, who I didn't trust today) with a side order of
Philly style A1+ choice PRIME rib (no. 5, who just didn't look appetizing to me today).

I am getting hungry, like wolf (LOL), and the 5 and/or the 9 do look yummy to me, that is, in this 8th. UNFORTUNATELY, I'm not the only hungry wolf in the crowd today cause thems are getting bet down. :(

Son ah ma..

Son ah ma..

Tough trucking today, NOT my kinda Tuesday. You believe in this stuff? -> it IS Tue$ and there is a LAST RACE.

We'll see.

BTW, that Elliot/Farro combo (jock/trainer) is so, so tough to beat. The two I picked just looked a lot better and it's the HOSS that does the running. :(

10th race.

Be careful, my magic nos. are among the top four picks... so I am going that route.

tries: 1-3-6. 1-2-6 Boxed
zacks: 2-6. 1-6 boxed.

Longshot: no. 1

That's it.

OH man, that damn 10 was the Philly surprise package and I didn't bite. Played what I posted plus $10 win on no. 1 and $25 win no. 2 cause of the lesser odds. Can't believe I played small zacks... 1,2 with the longshots in this race BUT NOT THE 10. Far outside post and poor rider threw me off. Oh well.

Not quite the Tues. I was looking for, but got through it.

Getting ready for SAT at Philly

Getting ready for SAT at Philly

Got Sat's program and wondering.. where the hell are all these dang hosses coming from? Been scratching and clawing for PLAYABLE (fields with at least 8 horses is a primary factor to qualify a race as playable. There are other factors as well though). NOW, almost every race is overloaded and, oddly enough, that ain't too good. It makes a LOT more work figuring each one out and ya gotta figure out which races to eliminate cause playing too many races is a losing proposition.

Fosho, there will be plays on Sat. I see enough horses that I am pretty familiar with and cheap claimers and sprints are a-plenty on Sat. STILL, that could mean only 2 or 3 best of the bunch though. I HOPE I can weed out the losing races.

OLD NEWS
How bout that last race on Tues, what a disaster for me. Can NOT believe, AFTER writing about finding that "surprise" hoss to git the Philly Super Sub.. and I leave the TUNA out in the finale. A LOT of that has to do with betting too much. I dropped over $60 on that 6th race and collected ZIPPO. Liked that no. 4 hoss too much. That, I believe, is the reason I decided to leave out that no. 10 MONSTER in the last race. I bet more in that race than the 6th and finding those exactas with the 1,2 over the longshots was at the time I was realizing that I was going overboard on betting for the day. My last decision was to just SAVE (ugh) $3 stinkin dollars by leaving out that no 10 who I gave almost no chance. Sitting on a $241 zacta and decided to be a tight wad. Get this... today I checked to see who did get beat out for second by that 10. IT WAS THE NO. 1, my other horse I had on top only along with the no. 2. HAH, a 2-1 (my top two horses) woulda ALSO returned a goose egg as well.

Don't know what to make of it.

Hammy, I've checked back (around 25 races so far) and wheeling my two top picks woulda been a pretty steep losing proposition. SO FAR, looks like the way I was playing them, top/bot on one of them and W/Pl on the other, is the way to go. Even at ONE stinkin dollar zacks.. you're laying out $40. Even catching a $100 zacta would yield a profit of only 10 lousy bucks and that's for only ONE stinkin dollar zactas. We woulda caught plenty of $20 to $40 zactas, but they would be UNprofitable wheeling both picks. Hell, even an $80 zacta wouldn't produce a profit.
BTW, I only checked races with a field of 10 or more horses cause thems have a much better chance of producing the big payoff. Maybe just wheeling on top? OR maybe ONLY wheeling t/b each of the 2 pciks with the 5 longest shots in the race would work? JUST DON'T LEAVE OUT THE LONGEST ONE. :banghead:

Hogman, I found a proposition that I like for the Super Bowl The odds are a bit of a problem so I might use it as a parlay booster in a two teamer. Haven't decided. If Sat is good track day, I think I will lay out 95 to pick up 50. Dimes has it listed -> NE has at least one scoreless quarter. It's at -190.

I'll be posting Sat. picks in this thread. Thanks for the well wishes and the appreciation for me posting this stuff, MJers.

SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY 2/4

SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY 2/4

Remember, stick with the program cause you don't wanna risk missing a "CELEBRATION Day". The picks have been pretty solid, but figuring how to play them has been a nightmare for me lately.

Thought I opened a NEW thread with my last post but guess I didn't. Wrote "I'll post Saturday's picks here", so here goes...

Race 3
Zactas.. no. 7 top/bot with ALL. I think this hoss warrants the wheel job, partly because I don't care too much for the favorte(s) and the no. 7 (Passion Punch) is not the same horse she was when she did so poorly in her only other race at this distance. Like this rider a lot too. Should go off at decent odds.

Let's see how eliminating some, as an experiment or for MJ'ers who don't wanna go for the Wheel job. How bout just using the 1,4,5,10 with that no. 7 hoss, top and bottom of course?

Race 4
Sorry I spent so much time on this race. How can ya make a pick without knowing if the AE's, BOTH of which could win this race, are gonna get in or not? Just as bad - the favorite looks to be SOLID. AND... . there are at least 4 others that could be BIG trouble if the aforementioned screw up.

Well, I don't wanna come back here and rant and whin about the fact that I wrote (Tues?) about the Elliot/Farro combination (no. 1 hoss in this race) IF the no. 1 does win this race. So, like that freakin last race on Tues.... it's time for the ole "one-two knockout punch" again. Both look like top contenders and they're in the best positions to make it happen in this race.

Try (kinda small, cause that favorite is TOUGH) ZACTAS -> 1,2 top/bot with 1,2,4,5,9,11,12. At least one of the AE's won't get in and maybe both so that will cut the cost. Looks like that would be 10 or less tickets. Of course, it's less costly to just play the no. 1 (10-1 M.L.) straight. Pretty sure I'm gonna take the exacta route though. Know something?... . the 1-2-4 box has almost as much magic as the 1-3-6 box for Trifectas. If I hit that 3rd wace, I'm gonna add the 1-2-4 box jobbie.

Race 5
Dismissing the two favorites in this race is prob. a bad idea. They'll be betting the no. 7 alright and rightfully so. If the no. 5 goes off at somewhere close to it's M.L. of 7/2, that's not a bad idea at all. But, as we all know, PooPoo does happen at this track and I THINK I have it narrowed down to two as to which does the pooing. Here's the options for this wace...

Safest: 5,7 top/bot with 2,9.3.

Walking on ice: Straight plays on no. 2 (8-1) and no. 9 (12-1, may be higher). YOU decide what straight means, I dunno yet. If either wins; race is profitable. Could be profiable even if the 9 runs second.

Walking on the Wild Side: Straight play on no. 9 Win/Place/Show@2x. Could mean paydirt. BTW, let me know if you want me to play "96 Tears" if the no. 9, Forty Prayers, runs out of the moola.

What's your pleasure for this one? Safe, ice, wild side? Or are ya taking the short plank? :s1:

Race 6
IF ya gotta, here's the three top picks 7,8,12. I don't gotta. Of those, think the no. 7 is the best.

Race 7
Didn't plan on it - but, I've been liking quite a few of Montanez'z mounts today and, despite how bad the no. 8 looks in this race, I won't skip this one. Does look way out of form, but Kaz (trainer) might have this one ready, has Mont., and his 2110 (yeah, I know.. Kukoo, Kukoo) form annihilates these. BTW, some kinda blood lines in this one.

Sane picks?.... 5 (5-1 is fine; could steal this race on the front end), 11, 4.

Race 9
OK, here we go... the "Acid Test". NOT 10 or 11 but TWELVE maiden, filly, and mare dirt bombs.
.
.
.
Ok, looked it over real close like. Somehow, I've been going WAY overboard betting the finale.. AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN IN THIS RACE! I got 2 stinkin bucks to win on whichever one looks better in the prerace between the 1 or the 9.

Well, ya sure got your money's worth.. capped almost ALL the races. They all looked (kinda) playable cept for the 6th.

G.L. super BOWLing for dollars. "Pats have a scoreless quarter" it is.
