thanks for making me feel better, Hammy.

I'll feel MUCH better if one of these LONGshots do something in this 7th wace - 7,9,10.

Good Luck, partner.

UGH, Christal Ball is really getting cloudy at times lately. BOTH favorites win the 7th and that means.. :00x4

That there "Cop" hoss is REALLY good when he's feeling up to it. Prob. is you never know when he's gonna be up to it and the spot he was in today made it hard to like him today. Didn't look too good in the prerace either. Still had enough respect for him to include in in zacks. Had each (1,11) favorite with one of my L.S. picks top/bot.

You better Goooo , Niners.

racing is tough at times Jimbowski but at $2 a race how can you not love it?

I just stay with one track when i'm there bet ONE horse to win or across the board and just win most of the time! Balmoral track one day i'm going for longshots every fucking favorite came in odds on or second choice

Reason was no head wins and once these horses took the lead they finished strong

caught one 12-1 shot 2nd place had $10 across the board

so i only lost $70 for the night LOL

I was in that set mode after 6 races to stay on longshots or better odds because if i switched to the favs i had a feeling then the konger odds horses start popping

Horse Players will die bald but never die broke

amazing how the min bet $2 has held up

you would think that due to economy and feeding of horses and purses it would have risen.

Same thing in sports betting at vegas always $5 every sport $5 to win $4.50

YOu have to ? our government in banning sports betting in all states way back in 92

literrally just blew at least 5 trillion a year out the window in vig taxes and jobs in gambling industry

Nice writeup, Scrapman.

Here's some stuff you may find interesting....

How bout the 10 cent Superfecta? TEN CENTS!
Sounds great but the tracks found out that more moola got bet (track handle) when they dropped the Super bet to 10 cents.

Folks just LUV taking a shot at a big payoff and they are driven to box or wheel horses at 10 cents per ticket. Dreaming about the big payoff entices them to bet MUCH more than they would normally bet. The $2 bettor is now betting higher amounts and the "10 cents" bit attracts many more people to the windows.

Santa Anita made a dumb, dumb move years ago when they raised the minimum exacta and daily double bets to $5. The hoards of $2 bettors deserted the place.

Lastly, allowing tiny bets attracts NEW bettors and many are young. That's good business practice for the track now and for the future.

One more thing - MANY big bettors who DO die broke started out as $2 bettors.

Longshots/favorites?
I don't look for either when making my picks. Never bet a horse just because of it's odds. When I like a horse going off around even money I USUALLY just pass the race. Let odds determine IF you're gonna bet the race, how much you're gonna bet, or just pass it up.

Good to read that you're enjoying the races. Me too.
