Nole,

The squirrel cage motor or blower motor is probably bad. Easy way to check is to turn on the heat and see if it blow out of the vents or actually just turn the fan to on with the heat and cool selected if it doesn't work that is your problem and is an easy fix.

First, there is a panel on your outside unit that is usually rectangular in shape with four screws. Remove the panel and directly in front of you will be the controller. It has a reset button. Press it and see if it engages. If it does and your fan isn't blowing than shut everything off and change the motor.

The fan motor or squirrel cage will be in your inside unit. Normally behind the top panel. It will have three sometimes four bolts securing it. Remove those and disconnect the wires. Keep the cage once removed and take the motor with you to any parts or appliance outlet and they will sell you a new motor relatively cheap. Take your old motor with you. Once you get the new one, bash the hell out of your old one with a 9-iron.........oh wait, you don't have one anymore thats right. No worries, you would have been hours trying to hit that motor with it anyway. I have watched you play. :0008

Hope that helps,
FDC

With the blower assembly removed from the air handler. DO NOT HIT THE SHAFT WITH A HAMMER !

After you have the motor out, you should remove the mounting bracket from the motor. Be careful to note the orientation of the motor in he bracket. A penetrating oil on the shaft may help in removal such as BP Blaster.

To remove the motor from the blower assembly, start by loosening the set screw that attaches the wheel to the motor. Then remove the motor mounting bolts which hold the motor to the housing. You should be able to pull the motor out now.

After you have the motor out, you should remove the mounting bracket from the motor. Be careful to note the orientation of the motor in he bracket. Most are belly band motors. A ring with three brackets.

**NOTE** Some older units have the mounting brackets built into the motor. If this is the case, you will need to purchase the exact replacement or a motor and an adapter kit.

Thanks Fat Daddy. Father-in-law is on the way. Hopefully we can figure it out.

House is staying comfortable somehow. Not cool but comfortable. 2 fans running keeping the air moving.

Cheers my friend and everyone should know FDC gave me back my 9-iron at the last outing.

Shaft was bent but he did return it. :mj07:

Nole, look at the secondary booster nozzle located on the fabricated half-inch pipe.

This should solve all your problems. :0074

Oh the secondary booster nozzle.

Shit, I was looking at the primary Joker.

Thanks for the heads up!
