These might be my favorite flowers. I have a back yard full of them. They bloom for a long time from late summer through fall.
Hydrangea - macrophylla Alpengluhen
Alternative Name: Alpenglow, Glowing Embers
Hardiness Zones: 5 6 7 8 9
Description: Blooms of unusual deep rose pink, almost crimson--8" across, amongst the largest of all the mopheads. The color remains essentially the same even in slightly acid soil. In spite of their size, they are held erectly on a mounded 48" plant with shiny, dark green foliage. Profuse flowering over a long season. Excellent for drying. From 1 gallon pots.

So I beg of you, plead actually, please publish a picture of a dog gnawing on a deer femur or you shooting a feral cat near those flowers as soon as possible or I may have to rethink everything I have ever learned about man behavior.
